From NAMM 2012. Maybe you guys have already seen it. If not, go to post #5 and check it out. I'd like to have one. Anyone know when they'll be available? http://musicdfw.com/showthread.php?5626-The-2012-Klon-Centaur
My amp broke down onstage recently and I wound up playing through a new Pro Junior that was onstage. Sounded pretty darned good.
I've been gathering info on those amps ever since. Some sites say Beck uses a Celestion G10 speaker in his Pro Juniors.
Curious if anyone has compared the two. Or if anyone here owns the Legacy 3. I was watching a Steve Vai video demoing the Legacy 3 last night and Steve comes right out and says that he preferred the Legacy 1 to the Legacy 2 - maybe that was the period when he was using Bogner's instead of his...
Great playing and a great groove too. That's Mike Finnigan (who played organ with Jimi Hendrix on the Electric Ladyland album) on the Hammond organ. Anyone know what guitar George is playing? Looks like a PRS but I don't know that it is. Sure sounds good. XK7bvVpkYmI
This is a rare dual humbucker model Squier Strat from Fender Japan. Made in 1985 or 1986 according to the serial number. It's in very nice condition and I've owned it for quite a few years. Just did a fret polish on the stock medium frets - plays like a dream. Maple neck, Rosewood...
It's interesting that Jol suggests doing all the things I've done to my guitars for years, including putting the foam that's included in each box of Duncan pickups in the pickup cavity and doing the 50's mod to the tone controls. Great suggestions from one of my favorite guitar builders...
This is the neck pickup from the '53 Style Tapped JB set from the Duncan Custom Shop. It has higher output and a clearer tone than stock Tele neck pickups. MJ aged it Antiquity style for me so it looks old. It's the best Tele neck pickup I've ever used but I prefer the sound of a Strat neck...
Just bought a TC Chorus used and I'm loving it. I have an old Boss Chorus pedal I like but the TC makes me sound like a bluesy Pat Metheny. Just great tone and I can make it as subtle or as dramatic as I like.
I've been using it in stereo through two little tweed Fender amps spread out about...
When Reese joined the band on B3 organ did SRV and Tommy continue tuning down 1/2 step? That would sure make it tough on a keyboard player who couldn't detune his instrument 1/2 step. Everything SRV fingered as if it were in E would have to be fingered in E flat by a keyboard player. With a...
Do you biscuit join them? Dovetail them? Box join/finger join them? Butt join them? When I see them for sale on Ebay (uncovered and raw wood) they're usually not box joined but the old Fender amps from the 1950's and 60's are box joined in the corners. I don't have a way of doing that...
I've refretted a few guitars but it's been at least 20 years. Still have most of my tools tho: end nippers ground down for fret removal, leveling files, crowning files, etc.
A friend wants me to remove the frets from his imported Ken Smith bass. Rosewood fingerboard.
He then wants me to fill...
I'm thinking of asking my wife to put one in my Christmas stocking. It won the Guitar Player's Editor's Pick award and seems to be getting universally positive reviews. It's the preamp from an Echoplex. I don't know if this is true, but the rap is that guys like EVH, Jimmy Page and Eric...
Just got it - handmade in the Duncan Custom Shop. I'm going to put it in the bridge position of my Strat. If it sounds as good as this guy's, I'll be very happy! But first, I need to get a new pickguard made.
