    Your Favorite Tubes

In my Marshall I actually liked the Groove Tubes I had in it prior to the power tubes going bad. Think they are Mullards in there now, and a mix of 12AX7s. There are JJ EL84s and AX7s in my lil H&K amp, havent had to change them yet so not sure how I like those compared to something else.

Which heavy metal / metalish hard rock players use a PAF-class bridge pickup?

Kirk Hammett is using them in his LP and has gone back to passive pickups lately

    New MXR EVH pedal

I have a couple Wampler distortion boxes, including a Pinnacle Deluxe, that sounds so much better thru the loop versus thru the front of my amp. So I dont see why this pedal couldnt be run the same way. Cant hurt to try it both ways

    Solar CHUG LITE pedal

Looks like its voiced after the Randall Satan, what vids I saw of it, I liked it better going into return of the amp vs into the front. Could be something fun for chits and giggles on occasion.

    Custom Pairing

It read 482k, supposed to be a 500k, so close enough

    Custom Pairing

Both pickups had the original length wire. Custom sounded like this when I bought it new, the BW wire had not been trimmed either, just bundled up and tucked away into the cavity of thr guitar. As of right now, the cavity is a mess, have the loose Jazz and unused Liberator wires just hanging...

    Custom Pairing

When I have a moment, I am going to retry the Jazz and see how it sounds now with the Liberator but as it was, just wasnt doing it for me. Nope, the guitar is a HH with a single volume, no tone, 3 way toggle. So both the pot and Liberator should of been wired the same. I need to make the...

    Custom Pairing

I am amazed at how much the pot change from the stock pot to the Liberator has changed the tone of the guitar. Both are listed as 500k, I havent tested the Liberator pot but did test the stock pot, it read 482k, so not that far off the mark. What I have noticed with the guitar and Custom is...

    Custom Pairing

Too thin and bright for my tastes. It does what its supposed to, sound like a strat pickup, but just isnt it for me

    Custom Pairing

I am sure this has been asked about a million times, maybe even me, but what is an unusual pairing with a SD Custom? I have an ESP LTD M400M, mahogany body, maple neck and rosewood board, 1 volume and a three way toggle. What I have found with this guitar is its very "throaty" is best way I...

Super high resistance pickup, mentioned in an article earlier this year

SD in conjunction with Spinal Tap, yes the band, a one off pickup that rang in at 111 DCR, it was released this past summer about the the time This Is Spinal Tap 2 was released

    Big Muff Pi 2

Watched a couple vids of this and thought it was pretty interesting. I have never found a fuzz that I liked, but this one sounds pretty good. The fuzzes Ive played either dont play well with my amp or my pickup choice, thinking its more the amp. Just realized there are two sizes of the pedal...

    NPD: Soldano SLO Plus

Glad you got the pedal figured out and thanks for the advice on running drive pedals in the back of the amp. Have a couple of Wamplers that sounds just as you described, Dracarys and Pinnacle Deluxe that both sound thin and fizzy through the front of my Marshall, tried them both through the loop...

Dean Markley going out of business?

Havent used Dean Markley products in years. Received several packs of new strings and they had some issues, corroded spots on the strings, never went back. One of my first amps was a DM, from what I recall I never loved it Hate to see a long standing company go down though

Anyone tried this no-mod Marshall high-gain module?

There are quite a few guys over on the Marshall forum that use them. Think the guy that owns Hot Mod is on there and very responsove to questions. There isnt one for a Jubilee, so dont have real world experience with it, but seems to get aot of praise.
