If thats the case, it just may not be the pedal for you and there could be a reason it was given to you. Try it in the loop if you havent, see if its any better.

What amp are you using and do you have a different amp you can try it the pedal

Love the amp and only run those pedals if I want a different flavor of dirt. The Pinnacle Deluxe does have a boost on it akin to the TS9 and its not bad. Almost picked up an SD-1 the other day but didnt for some reason.

My Marshall Jubilee, every pedal I have run into the front of it, Pinnacle Deluxe, Dracarys and a couple others all sound very thin and fizzy in front with a flubby low end if I run it into the front of the amp, if I run them into the effects return, they sound much fuller. The only dirt...

I cant say anything about that but particular pedal my amp does not take dirt boxes, or very few into the front of the amp no matter the settings. Now if I run them into the Effects Loop Return, they sound much better. May wanna try that option.

In my Marshall I actually liked the Groove Tubes I had in it prior to the power tubes going bad. Think they are Mullards in there now, and a mix of 12AX7s. There are JJ EL84s and AX7s in my lil H&K amp, havent had to change them yet so not sure how I like those compared to something else.

Kirk Hammett is using them in his LP and has gone back to passive pickups lately

I have a couple Wampler distortion boxes, including a Pinnacle Deluxe, that sounds so much better thru the loop versus thru the front of my amp. So I dont see why this pedal couldnt be run the same way. Cant hurt to try it both ways

Looks like its voiced after the Randall Satan, what vids I saw of it, I liked it better going into return of the amp vs into the front. Could be something fun for chits and giggles on occasion.
