    Pickup swap in G&L Tele

One of my guys brought me a Chinese G&L Tele that had an SH-16 in the bridge position with a 3 way mini-switch (series, single coil, parallel). He wants a P-Rails installed in the bridge using the same mini-switch. HOWEVER, the pickup is mounted in one of the rings with the little DIP...

    Rare Bird on the bench

2007 Guitar of the Week - #17, zebrawood top over mahogany, Les Paul. No idea what happened to the stock pickups, sometime in the past they were replaced with P-Rails w/ the switches in the rings. It's never been setup, so that's on the work order, and changing the pickups over to a set of zebra...

    Say HI to Spanky!

One of my guys brought me a Chinese Tele body that weighed around a pound and a half, an old Peavey Nitro neck, and a set of G&L locking tuners. What could I do for cheaps? I put a Wilkinson bridge on it, a couple Bill Lawrence units, and some spare hardware to make it all fit. My gawd, this is...

RJ Ronquillo - who is a fan?

This cat is all over YouTube with gear demos, lessons, and just fun info. A Nashville session guy/touring pro who seemingly can play anything with strings, and play with taste while doing so. I like the guy, and I love his playing. Who else is hip to RJ?

    Another pick thread

I switched to Cat Tongue picks years ago (.88mm) when my arthritis affected my grip. Once I pick these up, it's darn near impossible to drop. In fact, if I pick them up in the wrong position, I have to throw them down before picking it up again correctly.

    New Used Strat thingy

Client traded me the husk of a Squier Strat he had laying around for a trio of Bill Lawrence pickups for another Strat he was keeping. I installed a no-name vibrato and a pickguard from Lace Sensor loaded with an H/S/S wiring set from the parts room. In the #2 position the humbucker is tapped to...

    Used Kahlers?

Anyone have any used Kahler wangulators they'd like to sell? Doesn't have to be in perfect condition - flat mount, stud mount, you name it. Accessories are cool, too. I have clients looking for vintage gear for vintage guitars for prices that aren't so stupid. Personally, I have a penchant for...

    Question for the painters.

Made a lot of money with this Miller airbrush I've owned since the late 70's. The cup holds enough to spray 2 thin coats on most guitars.

Clear coat of lacquer on a Tru-oil finish?

Add enough of almost any finish and you can build it up to a nice shine. Observe this TruOil finish on a koa Tele...
