If you don't want to sand back and grain fill, you could spray lacquer until you buid up quite a heavy coat, then see if it will sand flat. It will eventually 'sink' into the pores a bit, but that's the nature of the beast-Gibson's do it as well. Larry

I've made 30-40 pickups with magnets from PLS, and haven't had an issue with inconsistent sizing or finish. I do magnetize all my magnets before use, though, so can's speak to the consistency of their magnetization. Larry
