Sorry to hear about your situation. I'd guess the pickups were somehow damaged "after" being tested/shipped by Seymour Duncan. The chances of SD shipping you two dead Antiquity's in one go (or at all) are pretty slim. I live in India and have bought a lot of pickups from the US over the years...

I don't know about the Shrapnel style shredders. I actually hardly listened to any of that stuff back in the day. But a lot of the guitar guys in regular bands used a bunch of the same licks and they all got them from the "Metal Method" video's. At least that's what it sounded like to me.

Well I was going by video's like these (of which there are plenty out there). Also common sense tells me there's not much room for everyone to improv in a 120 person strong Orchestra w/ everyone sight reading. I should have probably specified "orchestra" 'cause that's what I was referring...

Very sweet looking axe. How does it sound , the pups and stuff? Does it really need a roller nut? I always avoid messing with nuts unless there's an issue. They can be tricky to replace.
