I have'nt had any fretboards really dry out like that. The weather here is hot but humid so...stuff like strings rusting is more what I have to deal with. Gorgomyte puts the richness back in my fretboards & keeps my frets shiny. If it ain't broke....
I have been playing a bunch of my Cort's after swapping strings on them.. (y)
If you want a sweet shredstick for under $500 (like me :p) nothing beats a Cort imo. The Maroon X700 w/ the white Fishman pups is the only one I paid a bit more for..
D'addario EXL's 9-42 on all my (Fender scale) guitar's. EXL 10-42 on short scale one's (which I have very few of..)
As for picks ..mostly Dunlop 3.0mm Big Stubby's (either the transparent purple or the opaque grey one's)...occasionally Ultex (transparent yellow) Jazz III's.
Yeah I bought it soley based on how nice it looked :D
That it's playable (after a bit of work) and sounds more than decent is a bonus.
The neck is C shaped & pretty slim, very shreddable ....actually feels kinda like my YJM Strat tbh.... :p
I remember buying a pretty decent import Strat...
No this one is Mangowood, which is extremely popular for making cheap furniture here. The wood has a natural yellowish tint to it..
This is the one It's a "Juarez" ...not terrible for $60 & actually looks pretty sweet . Obviously there were multiple issues with fret ends (all since sorted out)...
I was thinking about the same thing for my "cheapest on Amazon" (the name escapes me atm but it was $60 shipped) Mangowood SSS strat. The bridge is like a cheese grater (grub screws ov death) but I decided against it cuz I have no idea if it'll fit. Besides I like it's tone. Don't want to mess...
