What guitar are you playing today?

My spalted maple top MiK Raven West (after a string change..) Needs a bit of a set-up again though ..action's too low & there's some fret buzz.

Started on my Autopsy Tribute..got the first track down :)

*Bump* 5 years down the line my buddy Vik finally got around to doing the vocals for 1 track! I used my modest recording/mixing skills to immortalize this.. 1 down & just 7 more tracks to go (excluding one instrumental/Outro). Vik missed our last two scheduled recording sessions, so here's...

What guitar are you playing today?

Two more string changes today... Things are starting to come together after my break from playing & and after spending the morning with these two shredmeisters it's great that the old digits have'nt lost their nimbleness (y)

    HSH Guitars

I prefer HSH & SSH to HH in general, I like having a middle pickup (single coil) not just for switching options but as a standalone selectable pup as well. They just sound good. Also probabaly because that's the config (HSH) most of my Ibanez Sabre's have & they're the best playing guitar's ever...

What guitar are you playing today?

Changed some more strings... Video w/ some deeply emotional playing (guitar might have needed a bit more tuning..). But I was raring to go.....it's been a while so.. (y)

What guitar are you playing today?

Just changed he strings on this one so I gave it a spin. I'm dreading the amount of string changing I will have to do over the coming weeks :(

What guitar are you playing today?

My old Cort w/ Lace Deathbuckers. I'd switched those out for SD Blackouts years ago but now I have the Deathbucker's back in there again. The Blackouts (reg Blackout neck & Blackouts Metal bridge) were kind of difficult to get a balanced sound out of. The Metal was always too loud :p

Where/when did "modern" guitar tone begin?

Yeah I'm sure that's true, I've got nothing against modelers per say, but that crappy 'standard modeler metalcore' tone is what I think of when I hear the term "modern" metal.

Where/when did "modern" guitar tone begin?

Axe Fx & Kemper. That shitty, flat, overcompressed, zero dynamics modeler metal sound based on the same 5150/6505 thru V30's patch that all those bands use.

Music store visit w/ happy ending :)

Yesterday I went down to a nearby guitarstore to get myself a strap for my Xiphos.. And there's this other dude who was there to buy a guitar and had narrowed it down to two. One being one of those new Indonesian made Fender's that everyone seems to be cribbing about & the other being this...

NGD: Stealthy Spectre Of Sin (Ibanez XPT620 BKF)

Eh, NGD thread deleted? ...seriously? ....you'd think I'd posted decapitated heads, not 2 tiny drops of smudged blood  Anyways... NGD-Stealthy Spectre of Sin (V2) My new Ibanez Xiphos XPTB620 BKF . Gassed for one of these baby's (Xiphos's) for close to two decades. My fave...

    NBTSGD

New budget T-Style guitar day... Been holding off buying a Tele for years because I can't stand the look of them. Finally this one is a different enough take on the shape to appeal to me. In fact I think it looks pretty hawt! Now ..a die-hard Tele fan or a purist might say "Eh, wtf...

It's raining NGD's...but these are special..

Cuz my son's bought them for me... :bigthumb: Both my boys are into metal. (elder one's hair is halfway down his back) ...not crazy into it like me but more casually. He likes modern metal, "progressive" stuff & djent... and the two of us argue about our completely different tastes all the...

    NAD: Bonafide shred-stick w/a Floyd....sky blue 80's-style shred machine!

Ok so about 90% of my axes fit that description (except for the shy blue part)...but the FGN/Fujigen axe I bought last has a regular Strat-type bridge ..so not quite there , mad shredelicious shredding machine though it undoubtedly is. So now we have a triumphant return to the glory day's of...
