What would cause reduced pickup resistance reading?

Testing wiring with multimeter before I install into guitar. Neck pickup should be 7K, but reading not quite 5K. Middle and bridge reading correctly (7K, 15K). Ive tested at the pickup, as well as the switch and output wires to jack. Switch was in correct position when testing. Ground...

Advice on attaching humbucker cover to single coil sized pickup

I've seen those, but they are uncovered. Are there any that allow a cover? I wonder if I could attach the bridge pickup to this, mount it UNDER the pickguard, then just glue the humbucker cover to the plate.

Advice on attaching humbucker cover to single coil sized pickup

Building a partscaster. Using Wilkinson Hot Rails single coil sized humbuckers, with chrome plated pickup covers. Unfortunately, there is no single coil sized cover that will fit the bridge pickup (it's too thick). Trust me, I tried everything, including grinding down the inside surface...

Plastic chrome humbucker cover - do they exist?

Anyone know where I might find a chrome plastic humbucker cover with no pole holes? Can't find one - searched everywhere. Only found black and white - no chrome.

    Push/Pull Pot Diagram Question

That's what I thought. But then I saw this: And from the same site this: So shouldn't that top pic have Lug 3 on left and lug 1 on right?

    Push/Pull Pot Diagram Question

I am confusing myself on this, so hoping for clarity. In diagram below, ignore the wiring - my question is about the lugs.Assume that both images ARE OF THE SAME POT, just different views. On the left image of the pot (viewed from below, or cavity side of the pickguard on a strat), lug 1 is...

What is going on with these pickups?

Quick update - vendor (Musiclily) responded by Facebook acknowledging their error saying to switch the red and white wires (see diagram below they posted). That matches what I found, but polarity doesn't match. I requested that they update with start/finish wires - waiting to hear back.

What is going on with these pickups?

Ok now I'm confused. You are right of course. But that is what I determined with the MM. I used this video as a guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UfxQBhqen8 Here is exactly what I did: (pickups came with red and white wire combined, which I separated before testing) - Testing for...

What is going on with these pickups?

So I wired it to the push/pull like this for series/parallel. I then connected yellow to ground and black to the blade switch thinking yellow was ground. Do I need to change it so black is connected to ground and yellow to the blade? If so, do I also need to reverse the yellow and black wires on...

Suggestions for HHH Hotrails wiring options

OK, just pulled back the casing for one of the pick ups, and it looks for certain that black is ground. So how does that change the wiring of the push/pull pot? I assume I wire black to ground and yellow is hot to the blade switch? Does everything still stay in the same place on the switch?

What is going on with these pickups?

Wilkinson Low Gauss Hotrail pickups. Wire colors are as follows: North Pole: Black +, White - South Pole: Red +, Yellow - There is no bare wire, and I was wondering why? Took these pics and noticed that on the bottom there is a silver stranded wire soldered to the copper strip. On two of the...

Why is there a nail bare wire on my pick up?

Topic should say no bare wire not nail bare wire. Don’t know how to fix it. Rookie question, and probably an obvious answer, but…. On my Wilkinson hotrail single coil humbuckers, there is clearly a bare wire soldered to the bottom of the pick up, but only four wires come out the other end...

Suggestions for HHH Hotrails wiring options

Quick question - this diagram shows the hot wire being connected to the right lug on the pot instead of going straight to the blade switch. The middle lug on the pot then goes to the blade switch (black in my case). I wired it with the hot wire going directly to the blade switch. Which is...

Suggestions for HHH Hotrails wiring options

How does this look? Not quite done with all the labels yet. I wired the bridge and the neck to the same tone control, and the middle to its own.
