Yea you cant go by demos IMO. Look at 12ax7 shoot outs( i have a box full vintage and new). Half the guys play a loop through a looper. Most of what a 12ax7 swap does IME is changes the way the amp feels subtely. Even pickup demos...they never usually tell you what heights the pickups were set...

Mostly the neck feel/shape and it didnt resonate in my hand and through my chest which is what I look for in a guitar anyway but it just sounded lifeless IMO Now my freinds 65' trasition strat( all late 64 stamps) is another story thats glorious.

I think there is a certain amount of brand perception. Guitars are wood and metal hardware with pickups. If you had two strats...a Squier that had an exceptionaly good resonance to it and a Fender CS strat that was master reliced but a dead peace of wood but had fancy CS pickups. Chances are 50%...

If the switch is crl and wired with one side for pickups, other side feeding tone pots. On the " tone side" Hook the bridge tone to the bridge lug on the switch then the other tone pot hook to the middle lug and jump to the neck lug.

OOOO steel wool on the back of the neck and even fingerboard. Then rub the finish back to a shine with a microfiber cloth. I do all my guitars.

Sometimes its hard to offload anything without taking a big loss. Everyone sees used as used...not i used it once and its mint. I bought a LP $2400 8mo later i didnt like it. After months on marketplace i took $1600 i gigged it twice....yea i coulda sat on it but needed money for apartment security.

Sit on it awhile and think on it. Nothing worse than dropping $250 having it show up..."loving it". Then 4 mo later realizing you have sonething you havent touched since the day after the honeymoon. Been there with $100 pedals let alone $250.
