Does this look like a 90s Jazz?

The seller (LPC Pickups, a.k.a. Lane Poor Clone on Yahoo Japan Auctions) unfortunately never replied, but I did get my money back through Yahoo. When I called him out in seller feedback, he tried to make me sound like a clueless novice. It was a disappointment for sure, but hopefully I can get...

Mojotone vs. Philadelphia Luthier Tools magnets

I emailed Philadelphia Luthier Tools & Supply a few weeks ago. They never replied, but today I did find a mass promo email from them in my spam folder. Seems they got my email, didn't reply, but then added me to their mass emailing list. I did hear right back from Mojotone. I didn't want to...

Mojotone vs. Philadelphia Luthier Tools magnets

I'm in the market for some AlNiCo 2 and 4 bar magnets to swap in some humbuckers I have. I'm considering Mojotone and Philadelphia Luthier Tools. Between the two of them, does anyone have any comments regarding things like quality and consistency from batch to batch? I'm looking for something a...

Does this look like a 90s Jazz?

Thanks to everybody for the help. I haven't checked the pickup in question yet. It's currently in a guitar that's on loan to a bandmate, and I'm convinced it's an A2P anyway. However, I did execute my first two pickup swaps safely with a couple of Gotoh humbuckers. It was so much fun that I...

Does this look like a 90s Jazz?

So do you figure it has to be either a Jazz or a '59? I'm wondering whether there's a chance it's an APH-1n, like the one pictured below. The APH-1n has a long sticker, which seems to match the residue and outline of the missing sticker on my mystery pickup.

Does this look like a 90s Jazz?

Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted... over ten years. I acquired this pickup the other day on Yahoo Auctions Japan. The seller didn't know what model it was, and I bid on it with a hunch it was a Jazz. It arrived yesterday, and the resistance checks out at 7.5kΩ. I've installed it...

    NGD: Samick/Meriken ES335

Picked this up on Yahoo Japan auctions over the weekend during their most recent "anybody can bid over $50" promotion. The headstock reads Meriken by Samick. From what I can tell, the Meriken line is all 50s and 60s styles. I've seen White Falcon and Rick 325 copies as well. This one was...

    Value HH tele?

Re: Value HH tele? Fernandes makes a couple of HH Teles. There's the FTR-80 and the TEJ series, which is available in SS, SH and HH I've got an FTR (same color as above) I bought as a project that I would be willing to let go of cheap. Your choice of pickups, since I haven't installed...

    vote me home

Sorry for the shameless plug, but the mayor of Champaign, IL (a former bandmate) has offered to "bring me back" home if I get 100 likes by this weekend. Could you help a guy out? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Simply-Rod/528590917187072

WTT: my white/parchment Squier Jagmaster pickguard for your tortoise one

Title pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a tortoiseshell pickguard for my Squier Jagmaster. Would like to make an even exchange for my white/parchment pickguard. I realize it's a longshot, but what the hay. :fingersx:

How to get acoustic sounds from my ES335

Re: How to get acoustic sounds from my ES335 Sorry to dredge up an old thread on my first post, but the topic was exactly what I wanted to ask about, so here goes. I recently picked up a '76 Westminster (Matsumoku/Japan) ES-335, but unlike most 335s, it's completely hollow -- like a Casino...
