Always-on Pedals. Do you really have them? Really?

For guitar, no pedal is always on for me. However, my Cali76 compressor is always on for bass.

    Your Favorite Tubes

Welcome to the shitification of global manufacturing for max profit. It's one of my motives behind the band name for one of the two bands I'm trying to form this year. With that being said, the JJ tubes I have are from over a decade ago purchased through the tube amp doctor if I recall...

    Your Favorite Tubes

I have pretty much used JJ tubes for both preamp and main. I have JJ KT77s in my YCV50 and JJ 12AX7 preamp tubes. It used to have JJ EL34s. The EL84s in my H&K are still stock, but when the day comes, I'll likely be looking at JJ tubes.

    What guitar?

An Orpheo six string. The bass neck profile he made for my bass is killer. I can't imagine playing on any other bass neck now. I wonder what one of his six strings is like.

59 was awesome for metal. What next?

I can't say enough good things about the WLH set. I have them in two guitars. They can handle any genre I throw at them. With that being said, the 78s are IMO, one of the best sets Duncan offers. I am currently working on finishing two guitars with 78s.

Amps for Bedroom + Small Gigs??

Dude, the HK is a beast. When I first got it, I thought it was okay. Almost 6 years later, I love it more than any guitar amp I've ever owned or played through. It is so versatile. More importantly, once you dial in, it sounds top shelf. That being said, I've always liked some Peavey amps. The...

What is IYO the best Tune-O-Matic?

I'm a big believer that changing the TOM could have a positive effect on tone. I once had a MIM Strat and I replaced the old school 6-point trem with a 2-point Wilkinson with great results. I've just never looked into upgrading the Gotoh TOMs on my Warmoths. I really don't have any complaints...

Check out this hot piece of ash

I've got two swamp ash Warmoth Regals, one is a solid body paired with a roasted maple neck/board and the other is a chambered body paired with an Indian rosewood neck. They both have different personalities. I love playing both of them. I've also got a solid body swamp ash Warmoth J-Bass...

Amps for Bedroom + Small Gigs??

Like Securb, I'm all about HK. I've got the HK GrandMeister 40 Deluxe which can operate at 40w, 20w, 5w, and 1w. Now I need to start a thread about buying an attenuator for my Traynor YCV50 Blue so I can match bedroom volume with my HK for dual amp operation I also need to get a barebones iPad...

    Giving the Jazz another chance

I've always been curious about the Jazz/59 hybrid

    Fattening Guitar tone

🤣 I would call that the guitarist stealing the bass guitar's frequencies. I can see how that could be a problem with some music though. Point taken.

    Fattening Guitar tone

As a bassplayer, I have never struggled with my tone in a full band mix or recording scenario. As a guitar player, different story. I always have to turn my mids down a bit and bump the treble a bit without getting into even worse ice pick territory when playing with a full band. It's amazing...

Who cuts strings when changing them?

Not if you unwind them first and change one string at a time

Who cuts strings when changing them?

Although I no longer own one, I used to have a string-through body. PITA if you don't cut the pig's tail.

Who cuts strings when changing them?

I cut them between the nut and the tuning peg after a bit of unwinding to give me some Slack.
