Which Duncan pup is closest sounding to a DiMarzio Super Distortion?

Ok, I know this question was asked, but I don't remember ever seeing an answer, so someone please tell me if you know... in a HSH guitar, if you use the single coil and a SPLIT humbucker at the same time, does the single coil have to be RW/RP or not?

I'm looking for a strat pup for my basswood, rosewood fretboard, licensed Floyd, Ibanez RG. The strat will be used on it's own, as well as mixed with split C5 bridge and PG or 59 neck. I want a good strat tone, but with some extra output, crunch, as a bit better bass. What's my best bet, Fralin...

These 2 amps are both priced at $800 at a music store not too far from my house, and I'm not sure which would be the best for me. I don't like amps that have insane amounts of crazy distortion (like the XXX), I like mild, controlled distortion. The amp should be good for rock to hard rock...

Just bagged myself a used Ibanez RG 1570 for only $100! It has some dings, and it's gonna need some work but it'll be worth it. My first HSH Floyd guitar!

Is it a good guitar? It's one of Fender's 'cheapos' but hey, who said you need to spend $2000 on a good guitar? I was thinking of getting one, swap the Invader for a JB, rout another humbucker in the neck, and bingo, a guitar I can be happy with. Esquire Custom GT

Alder body, I just want to be sure the pups that go into it won't be too bright. Probably an ebony fretboard, since (I forget who said it) it's in between maple and rosewood tone-wise. I'm thinking JB bridge, Hot Stack middle. The neck humbucker I'm not sure about. I want to try a Screamin...

Why is it done? How does it impact the tone of the pup?

Does anyone have such a clip? I was thinking about putting one in the neck of a Double Fat Strat with a JB in the bridge. Seems like a good idea, and I know someone around here has done it with good results.

I have a Squier Strat, which sounds ok but I'd like to get better pups for it, but here's my question: it's a newer one, so it's not one of those older, great sounding ones, so I'd imagine the one I have is using sub-standard wood, etc. therefore I was thinking that maybe EMGs would be the way...

What's the actual difference between the 2 versions? Does anyone have any sound clips of the same riff, song, etc. through both because on the Bogner site I really can't hear a difference. I am seriously considering buying this amp so I'd like to know what the deal is first.

I would like to buy one, and I've looked into a few, like the Boss BF-3 and the Through Zero Flanger (I forget who makes it), but I'm not sure which one I should buy. Which ones do you guys use?

What wood is tonally in between ash and mahogany? I'm saving money to build a 2 humbucker Tele, JB/Jazz or C5/Jazz probably. Mahogany may be too dark and ash too bright. Looking primarily for Alice in Chains and Tool kinda stuff but with the versatility to do more.

I'm thinking about building a Warmoth mahogany Tele with 2 humbuckers. I was thinking the JB for the bridge. I like the JB, and in a mahogany body it should be a bit darker than in ash. Or maybe the C5, but will it sound muddy at all cause of the wood? Not sure about the neck, maybe a Jazz.
