I bought a brand new Jeff Loomis signature pickup and right off the bat it's too wide for the pickup ring (the EMG 57 fit in there just fine). No problem, I'll just waste my time sanding it till it fits. Then I notice it barely fits into the cutout of the body, there wasn't any play whatsoever...
Re: Peavey Amp Appreciation Thread - My Heads in Mississippi
My 3120 is overkill for my needs, but it is a great amp. Using low gain tubes make the amp more usable for me as the 2nd channel has less compression and gives a nice hard rock vibe.
It's rather thick, has a built in slide and it's gray in color. I made some extra cash last month and I'm considering getting one but my search came up empty.
I am planning on refinishing my superstrat next week and I've been curious to sculpt the lower horn for better access. Never done this before and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some pointers. I have a rotozip if that makes matters any easier.
I have the Fury in the neck and the VS in the middle, when I have the pickup switch set to position 4 the sound is very thin, almost like an AM radio. Is there a fix for this or am I just trying to mix and match pickups that don't play well together?
Re: Looking for a new DISTORTION pedal
I used to have one of these and it had such a nice tone:
I have heard really good things about the Hardwire distortion pedal but I have not tried it myself, once I got a high gain amp I did not have a need for any distortion.
Re: who here just loves their single bridge pickup guitars?
I really like mine, though I do enjoy the sound of a single coil in the neck but I have a scalloped strat for that tone. I'm considering making the cutaway larger but maple is such a difficult wood to modify.
My XV-300 has the stock wiring and i get an out of phase sound with both pickups now that i have changed over to a phat cat/mean 90. I found the proper diagram but i can't figure out one item. If you look at where i made red circles you will see a half moon where the wires cross and i can't...
i was surfing youtube the other night for phaser clips and i came across this gem:

i'm curious what current amps have this type of tone, i don't recall any clips of the EVH III sounding anything like this...
i recently put a Duncan phat cat in my xaviere SG and i am really enjoying the tone, very lively with great clarity for a neck pickup, the 60 cycle hum is very pronounced with a treble booster but this house has a lot of RFI for some reasn...i'd like to also change the bridge pickup as i don't...
I have been GASing for an SG for some time now, big fan of Toni Iommi and i've wanted to add a hard tail to my collection. Don't have the funds for a Gibson due to working fewer hours at work for the past 18 months and i could only find one of the Epiphones comfortable but i didn't like the...
