who here just loves their single bridge pickup guitars?

Re: who here just loves their single bridge pickup guitars?

I guess I'll share mine too. I just traded my trusty old Schecter for this 2004 MIM. I picked her up from some kid on craigslist who got it second hand last week, but she's been loved well. One of the 2 previous owners dropped an EMG 81 in the bridge. She'll be getting a Custom 5 by the end of this week. This is my first time with a single pickup guitar, and all I can say is I LOVE it.

I love that burst with the black and single pickup. Hope you don't mind if I lift the design for my next build.

I want to post this here yet again. I just love it, and seeing that there have been some "Rampage" posts lately, I think it is worth noting this was my response to the Rampage.

I really like that guitar. I love how you can see the grain through the finish.

Probably my favorite part about its appearance.

Now I wonder, would this be considered a telecaster or an esquire, or should it just be its own beast?

Thats really cool! I like the grain, the flat finish looks sinister, the floyd and single pup and the really light maple neck looks charvel like! NICE!
Id dub it a shredicaster!!

That's it's own beast. A Wolf in Sheeps clothes.... Even though it looks like a Tele, you ain't gonna get twang out of that BAMF!

It's an Esquire in my eyes, but not a classic Esquire. Following the common "Super Strat" terminology, it's a "Super Esquire."

Speaking of cheap, Tim, this may be the world's most affordable Gibson:

The pickup is a GFS Dream 90 and the mod was done by a prior owner. Just played my first show with her yesterday:

Took a little getting used to, in order to get a good distinction between a rhythm sound and a lead sound, with no tone pot, but after a couple songs I had it sussed. Fun on a budget! (Picked up for two hundred USD even, w/gigbag and including original Gibson ceramic humbucker.)

I love mine! First one I ever bought, don't miss a neck pup on it at all....

I really like mine, though I do enjoy the sound of a single coil in the neck but I have a scalloped strat for that tone. I'm considering making the cutaway larger but maple is such a difficult wood to modify.
