Considering your OP. Your solution will probably last. It's the sort of thing I do when a mouse or disk drive or something "hardware" dissappears.They do seem to be set off by something in software but the solution isn't there.Similar deal if you can see something in the device manager but it won't go. Un-install and reboot and let it find it again.GV.

Hey, my dad also has a Les Paul Recording Bass, his is a 71, yours looks exactly the same. Sweet bass, love the bound neck, super slim, great tone ! They sure don't make any bass as good as that one now-a-days
