  • seriously...I was just wondering. Nothing crude about it. People need a sense of humor!
No doubt - they were a different band after 79/80. But they still had their moments.
I had a listen to Mark, I'd never heard of him ,or that particular album ! The 80's KISS is okay, but there's nothing like the Frehley & Chris days.

Your needed in the Fretboard conditioner thread. I tried to make my case that Axle Grease is ones of the best for fretboards... DUH ! ; )
Honestly, I LOVED Mark St. John!!! Followed by Bruce, Tommy, Vinnie, in that order. I think St. John brought a nice modern tone that worked with the bands sound/style. I just think Animalize is an unappreciated gem - the most metal KISS has ever been. Unfortunate he got a form of arthritis similar to mine. I totally see how that could shut you down as a pro!
I didn't know you were a fan of the later KISS lineup... Obviously Ace is your fav, but who would be no.2 for you ? Vinnie, Bruce, or Tommy ? I wasn't a huge fan of the other KISS lineups at all, but the guitarist's were very good indeed.
BTMN had to cut half the tunes from his set...And Tracii Gunns can play a little bit better than me...heck - I'd rather hear Slap in The Face than She!!!

I don't think anyone can sing well enough for BD....but it does RAWK!
Yeah, that's Dali's. It's nice isn't it ? Ithink it is a slightly smaller body.

You shouldn't have cut SHE from the set. That was one of the KISS songs I liked quite a bit. She, and Black Diamond.
    Hey ! That's a good variety ! You have a 70's les paul GEM ? I didn't think they made GEM's in the 70's ?
Since you asked...Here is what I'm currently playing a lot of:

acoustic 12 string - Eagles, Seger, Mellencamp, Floyd, etc...unplugged. Trying to get Rocket Man right...tough translation to guitar.

classical - working on Study in C Major by Tarrega and Vilano by Sanz.

Electric - I play the following a lot:
classic rock - Zepp, Clapton, CCR, Skynrd, REO, ZZ Top and such.
80's Metal - A lot of Def Leppard recently, Priest and Maiden, VH, Ratt, Dokken, Scorps
80's Pop - U2, Billy Idol, Cars, Police, Clash, etc (used to be in a band that played that)

also Blues - Mostly standard Buddy Guy type stuff / stevie ray - esque things

And I've been Jazzin' a lot on the LP with P-90s
Hey Aceman, it's obvious your a KISS fan, but what other music do you like to play ? All those nice pauls, and your a big poster, but I haven't a clue much about your style of music man ! ? haha. Cheers
Yeah - I'm in FL, so a four hour drive in bold sun is not unusual, so driving lenses/Blue block are awesome. And again, my wife kayaks, so polarized is key for glare and seeing sharks in the water...

But most days, G15 is just fine.
Yeah I just think the G15 was good enough as is and the price difference is big enough for me to think "Hey with that money I could even get a cheap OD pedal!" haha!

Plus, even if I almost have my driver's license it's not like I'm gonna drive around much anyways. I don't fish or do much water related activities where I need to cut the glare (because pretty much all I do down here is go to the beach and hang out).

    Thanks for the input!
I have indeed had and do have polarized lenses. The Cromax driving lenses (Awesome!) and my gray changeables are/were polarized!

My wife has a pair of bans that are polarized also. I honestly am semi indifferent. The quality/color of the lenses in (G or B 15) is such that a lot of glare is cut anyway, so I don't notice much difference. The Polarized will cut even more. My wife likes polarized for kayaking - lot's of glare.
Since you did give me a pretty good reply on the Ray Ban thread, I have to ask. How come you only have G and B-15XLT lenses and no polarized ones? Is it not worth the $30-$40 difference in your opinion? I'm just trying to get some input from someone who's seem to have had shades with G15s for quite some time. I had mine for almost 4 years but then at that age when I bought them I never even considered going polarized.

    Thanks,
    Terence
