  • Oh yeah, are you just gonna send it back to him or take a refund and resell it? If you take the partial refund, how much are you gonna ask for it like it sits?
He will be home around 7 this evening and I will call him and find out something for you. If he has already traded it there's a damm good chance I can find another Studio floating around in the $500 to $600 range. You shoulda hit me a couple months ago, I had a 2008 Fireburst with EMG's and all the tags, just dead new mint condition I sold for $650.
Yeah, the break looks flat and has a good amount of surface area. Get a bristle brush and get the glue into every little crack, and clamp the hell out of it with soft jaw clamps.
Awesome. It should be a pretty easy fix. I run across a decent amount of Studios, but so far they have all been to nice to beat beercaps into. I'd actually love to find a Standard that been beat and maybe a broke neck to do another Dixie with. I've got a plan on doing a Negative Dixie that is black and grey.
I think I'll be fixing it. He's offering a full refund, but I like the rest of it so much that I amn probably going to fix it myself. Titebond 2 and good clamping ought to do the job. So, we've worked out a partial refund for it, and that's probably the way I'll be going.
Just saw the pics. I could fix that, although the value of a Studio with a repaired neck is considerably less than one without. Did the guy you bought it from insure it? After he gets it back, do you think he might sell it As-Is? If so, I wouldn't mind having a project to built another Dixie.
Aw man, you're about a day late. I talked to the guy who had it tuesday after I talked to you and he said since I didn't want it he was going to trade it in at Highland Music. I'm not sure if he has yet. I'll call him this evening and find out something for ya.
Hey bro. I just got back form the doctor and the shop. I brokemy dammed ankle again this morning, at least I still have Das Boot! lol. Anyways, I checked on the Gibson. It's a black 94 model with the trapezoid inlays instead of dot inlays like some other from that time period. It has a little rash on the back and the color has dulled up a little. No biggie on the dull, I can use some buffing compound and make it shine like a new one. It has a few scratches but nothing too bad. I would give it an 8 out of 10 and 10 being brand new pristine. I can get you into it with the original case for $500 plus whatever it takes to ship it. Just let me know. I can get you some pics if you wnat.
I may know where a black one is. It's a mid 90's model. I won't see the guy til this tuesday after Memorial Day though. I'll let ya know something then bro.
