The original pickups were crap, complete crap. Lowest end Jackson branded things from the mid 90s. But yeah, I've had a BLUSA500XL in it forever and loved it, then had a couple of spare JBJs so thought I'd use them in this. It's a lovely guitar, one I would never sell because I would never get its true value (to me).

That's the cheapest guitar I own too, JDR-94 Concept. Two JBs in it! :)

Hope things are cool, haven't seen you around for a bit

Hey man, Ive paid for a nickel SH spaced cover off a forum bro, which is why I was looking for a SH spaced coil. But I'm thinking, I have SH spaced JBJs in a couple of guitars I could always swap with whatever hybrid I come up with and just use the cover on one of those. Pain in the ass, but workable. The model I have was originally a Custom Custom (with a black baseplate, not sure why), but I have various magnets the good Blueman sent to me for free so Im set for everything. All I need is a freaking screw coil lol! (or any working coil since I can use one of the JBJs)
    Hi Adam; How are you?
I'm still trying to get a decent pic of my LP and the StagMag and Hybrid.

Hey mate, give us your mobile again, I get free unlimited call these days.
Oh, and what is that Hybrid you gave all them years back? It reads 14k plus.
Lokks like a JB with some Custom coil.

    Cheers!!
I was trying it on. Played great but I couldn't get used to the wider neck on a 7. The c7/jazz7 really woke it up. If you've never tried one, give it a try. 7s have a really cool tonality that comes through, even if you're only using the normal 6.
Cool; I found a disassembly guide. Cheap power plug that had broken. That's fixed, but on re assembly I realized it had a broken post that the screen afixes to and swivels on. The customer will have to take it to an Asus agent or them for that one.

    How's that new acoustic going?
Anything I can do for you? Send you more Neos so you could do a full humbucker? Anything!?

PS Do you have any experience taking laptops apart. I'm trying to get the cover off an Asus but there's something stopping me, after taking out a pile of screws and things, somethig is still keeping it locked in. Effin annoying. I will continue on with it tomorrow.

I need a new set of strings to test it properly. At the moment I've got a couple of flatwounds on the guitar because I broke a couple and didn't have any standard winds around. I'm going to try getting some from a place in Adelaide. $47.99 for a ten pack of Diaddario EXL120s for $47.99 and $6.30 postage, = $54.29. I don't think I could get an overseas deal as cheap by the time I paid the Postage.

It only says by credit card at the site but I Emailed them and they supplied Account details for me to do a direct debit [ no credit card ]. I will do this on payday [ thurs ].After that I hope t give it a good test run and maybe get down a sound clip of some kind. Initially I'm quite happy with it.

Cheers and many thanks once again. Wazza.

No, just wondering if you had. It turned out easy. I pushed a couple of them out with a bit of pressure. The others I extracted with some pliers from the protruding end of the pole pieces, with a bit of twisting and pulling. They slid out pretty easily. I had to hone the holes a bees dick of width. It has the FeO magnets in it now and is in the pup with the DiMarzio coil [ with Neos ]

Initially it works the same; Cuts back the dominance of the Neo and thickens it out. It retains the quality of the Neo but adds a thickness at the same time. The difference between the Epi coil and the Gibson is ; The Gibson makes it a clearer definition, so overall this appears to have worked a treat!
It's here. I shall play around with it later. More car stuff first.
Have you tried removing pole pieces from one of them?
Case in fact; wahWah is logged on and often is around this time. Lifestyle hours.
And of corse Crusty is a possum. Only comes out at night.
