I got that amp build finished to working state but I'm going to put an effects loop in it , so more to do.
Objective achieved though, it's feckin loud. I've now got something to drive my SD 400 Watt quad box properly.

A new chain saw for the winter fuel collection.
Did I mention I bought an Epiphone Casino last year ? Great guitar. I also finally got my new Warmoth neck for the Framus mounted properly. I stuffed up setting the bridge position twice. I had to fill and redrill the post holes.
I also bought a ribbon Microphone kit from Latvia. That works pretty well but I have yet to use it much.
So I've been accumulating new toys, I just have to use them now. I'm getting there slowly.
I just upgraded the DAW with new MB, 8 core proccesor@4.7gig and 16 gig of DDR3@2400Mhz.

Sitting here with a fire burning, it's cosy. Cheers Wazza.
Nope, took a redundancy late last year and am now quietly confident I'll get a job on the rail, I'm up to the 4th stage of interviewing.
Ran out of money a few weeks ago, so have lost a bit of weight, heh heh. I even p1ss clean now!
    How's things down there?
    Yep...
For now at least. We'll have to see what El Presidente gets up to
    :eyecrazy:
Good. Entrenched in the winter wood collection and cutting. I got a new neck from Warmoth a while back, for the Framus. The one I got for it some ten or so years back just never really jelled with me. This new one has an Ebony fretboard and I've just got some vintage style Kluson machine heads for it. A bone nut to cut and all together it should be good to play.
Ridding many laptops of spyware, smoking my head off as usual.
Nothing much mate, just working heaps and hoarding gold like Smaug (saving for a house).
I just sick my head in the door every once in a while to see what's going on.
    How's things with you?
The truth is, I've done quite a bit of guitar modding, pup switching, onboard FX installing and opened up the odd stompbox to fix loose connections..the usual SD forum member-type DIY stuff (I do have a multi-meter), but this is my first attempt at something different...& yeah, it's mostly just cosmetic, but I'm going to try and advance my talents a bit (lol!) ...maybe try & build something from scratch.

Yes, the tape deck still works fine, though I really don't use it often these days. Like you, I've got quite a bit of old personal/band stuff recorded on tape & there are times when I play some of it back...

I'm still totally into actual, 'physical' media though. Just can't get into iPod's, mp3's etc... does'nt feel right.
Sure, I just turned 40 earlier this year..

Those sound like interesting contraptions, must've been fun to make :) ...I had a couple of those 3 in 1's too back in the day, but they died natural deaths.. :lmao:

I actually wish I'd messed around like this sooner. I've often been tempted to try making a pedal or two myself. In fact, this little preamp apparently makes an excellent clean/tube boost for guitar, (according to what I've read up about it on the net). I might try to fit another in a box, swap the RCA's for 1/4" input jacks & mod/maybe add a few diodes to it to see if I can make a nice overdrive... :p ...or maybe I'll work on something else...it's been fun.

    :contd:
Yeah, it was'nt working past the switch. The moment I connected the "switch out" hot lead (To the PSU's) the whole circuit would go dead. But, on an impulse I changed the IEC input socket's fuse (switched out the 1A one for a 10A)... & it started working (!?) don't ask me how or why....lol :p

Anyway ...It works perfect now! I've been running it for over 4 hours and it's absolutely brilliant....no problems at all :D

Could'nt have done it without your help man...thanks a ton! Very cool of you :beerchug:
Well ...I think I fixed the switch. I used a spring from a mini-toggle to replace the lost one & it seems to be working ok.. maybe a bit stiffer in feel.

But the bad news is the circuit won't turn on. (Nothing happens at all). I've checked the wiring (with a screwdriver tester) and the "hot" wire is fine (tester lights up) from the IEC input (power in) to the switch "in". Does'nt light up after that (from the switch "out" onwards..ie ..to the two PSU's) Everything is wired up as in the schematic.

If I bypass the switch and just twist the on/off leads together...the tester won't light up after/past the joint. (from there the hot wire splits to the two PSU's...but there are'nt any signs of life beyond the switch/point) I'm pretty sure everything is secure I've checked it repeatedly (for bad connections etc) but it just won't work (?). There's no damage to anything (everything still works hooked up separately)

    ..lol....idea's? ...things I need to check...anything ??
It's on hold after I screwed the switch up....waiting for a new one to arrive at the moment :(

I yanked at a spade connector that I'd attached to the wrong lug by mistake & the whole thing came apart (apparently it clips closed/open) ....I could'nt find one of the little springs to put it back together again. So I'm stuck...I need to use the same switch because I've already cut out the chassis for it.. (19 mm hole) ..most other round ones (switches) are 16mm :( . I'm a clumsy idiot... I'll keep you posted :p
Oh gawd, it's in here now too. *sigh*. (sorry, i'm reffering to the seemingly omnipresent and ongoing feud between a couple of individuals, it seems to be in every thread i look at, now it's even got here).

On a better note ... Hi.
When that Album cover first came out, I was going out with a girl of very similar appearance to the one in white.
Brazillians were as rare as virgins in those days. I like a bit of fur, myself.
The no hair look has a touch of " Pedo " to me.
