Hi Frater. I put a set of the Slash 2.0 in my Epiphone Les Paul and wow it’s like getting a whole new guitar granted I was replacing a 20 year old set of Gibson Vintage reissues so I knew I was in for a change. But wow this guitar sounds brighter, clearer and louder than any Les Paul I’ve ever played. So far I’ve just been playing them clean at a variety of levels as I get a feel for what the pickups can do as opposed to some effects. I give these a ten out of ten and if louder is what Slash was looking for he got it. These gems just scream for your attention when you turn them up. And amazingly even at full throttle the articulation is perfect with every note holding its place. I have a Het Set active EMG set of Humbuckers in an LTD James Hetfield signature series Snow White Iron Cross Les Paul clone. I’m going to have to have a shoot out to see which set I like best. I didn’t expect these to even be in the same league. But they are.
For the Knob turners I took a reading with a sound meter of a firmly strummed F bar chord on both Pickups also an open e string. Volume was set the same on the guitar and amp and the meter was in the same place. The meter showed a 16 db. Increase with the peaking tones. Definitely call me a happy customer. I got a new Les Paul for a very small investment.
