0000 Scotchbrite between TruOil coats?

I've conditioned then stained my Tele project, and now I've moved onto the clear coat. I did the first layer, but I moved a little slow wiping it off and turns out my lint free cloth is not as lint free as I thought.

Is it cool to wait for it to dry around 24 hours, hit it with the 0000 (white) scotchbrite, clean it up with an actual lint free cloth, and then start the next coat?

Are there unintended consequences here?

Seems ok to me. Havent done true oil but used to apply allot of finishes on model cars using automotive laquer and enamels.

Yes you should use very fine scotchbrite or steel wool (yes this works if you are a clean worker), if you see any dark or uneven spots. i use coffee filter paper instead of cloth.

I've heard that you should avoid the recycled ones though. They fall apart a little easier

FWIW, I had good luck applying tru oil with one of those blue disposable shop rags. No issues with lint/dust.
