'07 Fender Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele

Anyone tried one of these yet? For the bridge they have a special wound tele pup, Fender says a little hotter and a little darker, and for the neck a vintage SD mini HBer. It should sound great. The reviews I've read have all been exceptional but I don't know anything about the ability or senceability of the sources. But I do know there's a bunch of tone hounds and guitar freaks up in here.
Any one?

That's the No.1 target on my shopping list - I have heard some demos and read reviews and as you say, 100% exceptional.

Great man. I hope you get it soon.
Im going to call my favorite guitar shop in a min. and see what kinda deal they'll make me. The owner is a good dude and has only the best of the best in his cool store.

Re: '07 Fender Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele

I DID IT !!! :naughty: I bought one. They have four to choose from and I'll drive over to Austin monday morning and pick one out. Man, I can't wait.
When I get my hands on it and play it a while through may amps I'll try to give a review on it here. I hope that it's as good as the reviews I have read about it.
I don't know about anyone else but a new guitar is better than a *$#^ &*$. Well, let me think about that for a second.
Yup, and it sure lasts a lot longer too!!:eyecrazy::eyecrazy::eyecrazy:

Those new Hot Rod Fenders are the best Fender I've tried yet. I especially love the 62 Hot Rod strats....the Sherwood Green one.

They're essentially Reissues with a beefier neck, 9.5 radius, and medium jumbo frets. The rest is straight up vintage. I want one.

I really like the look of the Tele, haven't gotten around to a store to play it yet, but I expect it should be great.

I had an idea for a fantastic guitar while looking at all three of them, the guitar being the Sherwood Green '62 body with the '57 all-maple neck. Combining the (IMO) best color of that series of guitar with the (also IMO) best neck in the series (quite similar to my Strat's neck with a flatter radius).

To get another good looking Strat out of it, the '57 should be the red one. Then with the rosewood-board neck on it, it'll be like a Mark Knopfler Strat.

Being a Telemodder, I'd say that Tele has great stuff right outta the box...I'd love to have one myself.

Re: '07 Fender Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele

I'll check out the Strats while Im there. That could be dangerous. :scared:

Excellent - I await your review eagerly (my bank manager doesn't...).

Re: '07 Fender Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele

LOL :-) Yea, mine either, but a man's gotta do whata man's gotta do.
I've found that if I pull the trigger fast on a new purchase and don't look back there's alot less pain.:outahere:

Re: '07 Fender Vintage Hot Rod 52 Tele

I checked out a few teles today, among them a Nocaster, a '52 RI, the Baja Classic, and the '52 Hot Rod. The Hot Rod was pretty nice -- nice weight, great neck, and finish. I didn't plug it in because I was really looking at acoustics, plus I didn't want to be tempted. :)

I can't help but think, why didn't they do these sooner? a very cool model, IMO.
I agree with butnut -- everything you want right outta the box.

Finally got it picked up. I havn't had a chance to plug-in yet, but tonight I'll get to. Looks and feels great. It has a very good acoustic resonance (good sign). We'll see.
