1/4 pound hum

I left original Yosemite on neck. Zero hum.

1/4 lb. On bridge hum hum hum. Until I touch Tele Performer volume/tone knob plate. It’s super quiet. How do I fix??

There shouldn’t be this big of difference in pickups. Esp when I upgraded.

Something's not grounded.. check to see that the bare shield is grounded on something, normally the back of the pots.

You could have a bad connection and it's a real simple continuity check. Put one multimeter probe on the shield and the other to ground and see if you got good continuity. Could easily be a bad solder

I clipped wires and twisted/taped it.

I found my solder. I can redo.

I understand. I run through 2 noisegates. It gets perfectly quiet when I touch volume/tone apparatus. If not, it hisses and pops whatever…

twist and tape is always a bad idea, solder. every time, solder.
