Welcome to the forum! Is this what you are looking for?

^ That's series/parallel. For what the OP wants, a simple on/off switch that connects red/white to ground, does the trick.

Re: 1 Humbucker 1 Volume 1 Tone 2-way Toggle Switch

It would be a lot easier with 1 tone (push/pull pot) and 1 volume

It would be the same, electrically. A push-pull switch is a toggle switch. Just sideways instead of up/down. :)

Less switches on the guitar also, only 2 instead of three, personally I would just ditch the switch and tone pot, let your humbucker be free, EVH setup for the win

YOU may want to ditch the tone pot, but most people want to have some control over their tone. Obviously the OP is one of those.

So, that post is about as relevant as..."personally I would ditch the guitar and get a LP".

That's my opinion, I gave my advice earlier on. If you don't agree that's a-ok :kabong:

It's not that I don't agree with your wanting to have just a volume pot, it's just that it isn't relevant to this thread and the OP's original query. You've given some good advice/opinions in other posts, it's just that this one isn't.

I think it was more about how you precented that opinion...

That is very good setup. But throwing that off the shelf in a thread with specific question how to achieve specific outcome, it's pointless "advice".

Mincer provided the correct answer. The rest is useless noise.

OP, you might actually seriously consider parallel (as in the diagram) as an option too. Very similar to split but a bit less bitey on the top-end. But hum cancelling like the full humbucker.

Re: 1 Humbucker 1 Volume 1 Tone 2-way Toggle Switch

^ +1. I love parallel, as opposed to split. A slightly more complex sound.

Re: 1 Humbucker 1 Volume 1 Tone 2-way Toggle Switch

I'd say the bite in split mode is at the top end of the mids. Parallel is thin and can be brittle depending on the pickup, the guitar and the rest of the controls.

I like parallel better when it works, but often find I need an RC to get the most out of it; and that will require another pole worth of switching (bringing the count to 3).
