1 lil Humbucker, 2 SC, 5-way, Split - PROBLEM!

I just installed my JB Jr. into my am. std. strat followed the schematic to 1 humbucker, 2 sc, 1 vol, 2 tone, 5 way, coils split in #4 (http://seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/hum_2sing_vol_2tone_-w-spl.html)

I did not touch any other wire except those for the JB Jr. There are 2 wires which are not in the schematic above, which I drew (blue wires) in the attached edited schematic.

The result is, I only have 1 coil "engaged" in the bridge position, split in the 4th position, and split in the middle position (which should have been just the middle pickup).

Help anyone?

Should I remove the other wires (the blue ones)?

I would think that you'ld want to remove both blue lines. The short blue line has the bridge split all the time. It negates the switch completely. The long blue line causes the bridge to be split in the #4 and #5 positions. Basically, duplicating the short blue line, but in a different way.

By removing both, you'll only have the bridge split when used with the middle pup. Is that what you wanted?

YES! That's what I wanted! I will try that right away!

Btw, the short blue line, where it supposedly goes to ground, goes into the 2nd tone pot (tbx control?)...

And... the white wire for the middle pup, does not go to the 2nd tone pot like in the schematic...

Should I modify everything so that it would look exactly like the schematic?

I'm worried I might screw up the tone controls.

Thanks Artie!!!

Yeah, if it was me, I'd wire it up like the stock schematic. You could move the second tone control to the bridge if you wanted.

btw - I noticed something else that I didn't catch the first time. Do you actually have the guitar wired up like this now? With the long blue line where it is, the whole output will be shorted to ground in positions #2, #3, and #4. If you get sound in those positions, it can't be wired as shown. ;)

nah, i didn't. i tried to remove the 2 blue lines like you said and then the mid, mid+neck and neck positions went dead.

i did various combinations and took me hours and still couldn't nail it... so... i gave up on the split...

i did "normal" config, i.e. no split. i'll keep it that way for now, and when i find time again, try your other suggestions.

it can get pretty frustrating with a semi-noob like me. the TBX control messes up the whole thing, and i'm afraid if i followed the duncan schematic and get rid of everthing else, i might not have the tone controls that i had before the pup change!

nwy... here's a pic of my strat now... sounds MUCH MUCH better with the JB Jr.!

and here's the pic of the old wiring. notice the 2 arching white wires, which i drew as the blue lines. the TBX control on the bottom left corner are like 2 pots with one on top of the other (so it seems like i have 3 tone pots).

Thanks a bunch Artie!
