For a "tight" sound, that can be overdriven, and really rocks, I would suggest the Bill Lawrence (Bill and Becky) AKA Wilde pickup, L-500-L (NOT THE XL!) The L version is much more versatile, and sounds like what you need. Although, I have to agree with one of the previous posters, any number of pickups could suit your need.

Why not the XL + QFilter? It essentially gives you high output and lower output sounds.

I always have to throw in my vote for the Invader. Two distinctly different, (and usable), sounds wired series/parallel.
