1 volume 2 tone single conductor humbuckers

Hi!

I've been searching high an low to find out how to connect two single conductor Humbuckers with one volume and two tones in an 335.

I first tried the scheme from Seymor Duncan, but that one has more conductor in the diagram and I don´t get any sound in the middle position. If I remove the ground from the bridge pickup from the back of the pot I get sound in middle position but the sound looses like half power in bridge position. I thought it was just to connect like the diagram from SD and treat the shield as the green and gray in their diagrams and the middle lead as the black.

Does enyone have a solution for this?

Welcome to the forum.

Here's how to do it (assuming that you have a three-way toggle. If you have a blade switch use the second diagram):

Just ignore the red and white wires (since they don't exist with your setup). So, essentially, hot wire from each pup goes to each respective tone control/pot, then to the switch, then to the vol pot, then to the output jack. Pretty simple. Don't overthink it and make it more difficult than it is.

I have now connected everything like that diagram. And it is pretty much the same as the one I used yesterday. Still no sound in the middle position.

I made a test, and when I put some paper between the contacts in the switch in middle position I get sound. How does the switch work, shouldn't both contacts be connected in middle position? And how come I get sound when I break that circuit?

I now tried to change the switch to a cheat import three way switch I dad laying around, with that one it works in all positions, but not as I want (bridge/both/neck) but that is because I dont have a diagram that explains the connection of such switch

This is the model I have now. I connected the ground to the prong ont the box it self. Wires from pickups and to tone control to the two outer prongs and volume in the midddle. Basically like it is on a standard Gibson switch. There is some problem for shure concerning the switch I used because I got a dramatic change in the sound, volume up by 50%.
