1 Volume Push Pull, no tone, Wiring

Hi All,

I´m new to the forum. Nice to meet you all.

I have an SG with a Pearly Gates in the neck and a JB in the bridge. I decided to buy a push pull pot to use it as a master volume for both pickups, also to do the split and no pots for tone. Just volume.

I have followed the wiring from SD website for this purpose and it´s working but with one issue.

The issue is that the pot is changing tone and not messing with volume.

I´ve checked several times the wiring scheme and it looks like i did it ok but the final result is not what i was expecting.

Can someone check the wiring scheme and see if it´s ok and give advise?

Are you using this diagram?

Check your connections...and if it still doesn't work, come back and post a few pics of what you have so we can sort this out.

Did you make sure the third lug of the vol pot is grounded? It's easy to miss that in the diagram. If that lug is not grounded, it will act like a tone pot.

But, yes, post some clear pics that show the wiring.

Thanks. Yes it is that diagram. I´ll check again the connections specially that third lug. Then if needed i´ll post pics. Thanks guys!
