100watts VS speaker 35watts

My Marshall watts output is 100watts but my speakers are 35 watts or 25 watts so how does this make sense

100 watt output VS 35 watt speakers or 25 watt speakers?

100 watts shouldn't the speakers be 100watts ?

100 watts output if the speakers are 35 watts or 25 watts then the output or current only gets like 1/4 of watts?

if your useing a cab With more than one speaker, Then the total wattage of the cab probably equals More than 100watts. Theres no reason to have 4 100watt speakers in a 412 cab.

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

100 watts doesn't equal 25 or 35 watts so i don't get it

25w X 4 = 100 watts

35w X 4= 140 watts

50w X 4= 200 watts

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

Is the AC impedance different on the 50's and 60's speakers?

If the Reactance different on the 50's and 60's speakers ?
The old fender and marshall 50's and 60's speaker's they use what made them sound better or good than never speakers?

What reissue speakers are like the fender's and marshall 50's and 60's speakers?

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

yea i do how does 100watts get through the 35watt single speaker i don't get it seem like only 35 watts not 100watts right?

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

What model of Marshall? Is the 100W rating output power or power consumption?

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

I'd be more inclined to help you if it didn't make my eyes bleed when I try to figure out what you just said.

Re: 100watts VS speaker 35watts

50's Chicago Jensens (as used in 50's Fenders) were pretty cheap speakers, utility grade stuff, severely power challenged, and prone to VC failure pretty easily (stated power rating for a new P12N was 18 watts). That's why Leo switched to Oxfords, Utahs, etc. in the 60's---too many warranty issues. Use an original cone P12N now and figure about 10-15 watts max due to derating (believe it; I've got about 8 blown ones). Nothing particularly magical about it (I've found piles of old P10R's in old school PA systems)---but that's the sound of an cheap speaker about to blow that everybody tried to copy.

Does anybody here know what a brand new P12N sounded like in 1957? Or a greenback in 1968? I don't think so...so, figure in 40-50 years of use, kinda hard to build that into a new speaker.
