Are two greenbacks OK to handle a 50 watt amp?

speakers are the last in the line of your signal path, they make a huge difference.

I find some of my low end oem speakers have a perfectly usable tone . Although maybe not in the original amp

My old Plexi Superbass 100 would put out RMS peaks of 190 watts.

If your not cranking the amp and or feeding it back probably be ok.
Also GBs wont take/ make allot of lowend either something to consider aldo.

Many old Marshall 4x12 cabinets had 25 or 35-watt speakers for 50 or 100-watt heads. It depends on how much speaker breakup you like?

A 4x12 would have twice the power handling though

it can produce peak well beyond the RMS value in AC but actually not RMS (root mean square) which is a value referred to the DC equivalent in terms of heat and power
