110v to 240v?

is it possible to convert a 110v amp to 240v without using a step-up transformer? i am asking because singapore has 240v dc power supply.

Nope. That would be step DOWN if wall power is 240V and your amp is 110V. And don't fall for the adapters that only change the plug end. That can destroy an amp.

It really depends on the power trannie. Lots of them come ready to wire for 120, 220 or 240. It is just a matter of which wires are soldered together. Then on the other hand, some are dedicated for 120 only. Take it to a tech.

There are transformers that are very capable for converting 240V down to 120V for use in Singapore.
