Some years ago, I tried out a 12 string electric that had much closer string pairing, which I really liked, but have yet to find anything available to buy as a replacement for the Tune-O-Matic one on my Epi that's similar, and wondered if anyone knows of one that might fit the bill?
I'm considering getting an un-notched one, to then cut at whatever spacing I want, along with assuming I'd need to replace the nut as well, either way, but I'm a bit concerned of whether I could manage that accurately enough.
I'd not noticed any difference in sound with the one I tried all those years ago, so is it just traditional to have them in the usual spacing, or something more fundemental, meaning they can't be closer (diameter of the strings etc)?
