Not happy about this, but It has to go to a new home.
2014 Singlecut 245. This is the model that replaced the SC-58 and Stripped 58. Essentially a halfway point between the two aesthetically at a more reasonable price point than the SC58. Construction-wise, they are all the same.
Livingston Lemonburst finish. Rolled neck binding (some early 2014s did not have it). This has the 57/08s. Fantastic pickups. Birds, Phase III tuners (These are awesome, did not like the PIIs). V12 finish (love this- much thinner and less plastic looking than the old PRS finish) Pattern neck (soft V to C-medium depth not a baseball bat, not thin). Stop tp, and TOM style bridge with big brass block saddles. Solid one piece back. No chambering like original 245s. 2 piece top.
Lots of pics will be posted- check em out. Some are from 2 years ago to show flame/back, some are new to show scratches/frets, new knobs etc.
There is very light surface swirling and light scratching. I played this, it did not sit on display. It does have a couple scratches that are a bit more than normal wear near the switch (see the pic) . I slipped with a screwdriver. There may be some tiny tiny dings, but the V12 finish is hard, and doesn't show much. Let's consider it a 8/10 for finish.
There is fretwear, especially in the cowboy chords area. It has been played quite a bit over the 2 years I have had it. Tried to get some pics, but it doesn't show well. It's nothing that affects play/feel, but it is there. again if you want perfection and a babied guitar, not going to be happy. This is a solid player/tone machine/work of art with some honest play wear, and no abuse. It's got an amazing natural looking figured neck and back, an a very "old burst" style flame.
BIG TONE. Guitar sounds like a Broadcaster and a vintage Les Paul had a baby. Chunky lows, great clarity. My Les Paul needs to step up a string gauge to get closer to the chunk this thing has. The guitar has 9s on it ATM. Roll up the gain and she really sings. Clean it up and roll the tones back and you can do a be-bop gig. Very versatile pickups. New owner will be one happy dude/dudette. Put some 10s on and your bass player will hate you.
Weight-I have not weighed it, but I would say it's around 9 pounds and some light change comparing it to my 9 Lb Les Paul.
MODS- is I moved the tone cap leads on the volumes to make it 50s wiring which helps the 57/08s clean up better when you roll off the volumes. I did try some other pickups in it so leads were re-soldered when the 57/08s went back in. I put Gibson speed knobs on because I think the stock lampshades are too dark. YMMV.
Original knobs, and paperwork/tags included.
$1500 tyd Con 48 USA (with case- case has a couple small rips in tolex and some scuffing/marks-see pic)
EDIT- Only Trade I am looking for is Cash/Paypal/USPS Money Order for the guitar in question, Thanks
