1950 Fender Broadcaster

Seymour recently got a 1950's Fender Broadcaster to work on. The Broadcaster was the original parent guitar of the Telecaster, it was only produced for a matter of months before having the name changed due to a trademark claim. Features two single coil pickups and a steel plate.

Cool video! Butterscotch Teles (Broadcasters, No-Casters...) are some of my favorite guitars!

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Jeez, dude. Drop a couple of bills on a lav mic. Your camera work is passable, but there's no excuse for using the camera's internal mic.

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Terrific story, terrific guitar. :)

However, I agree with St Genesius here.
It's an extremely cheap upgrade that makes videos look so much more professional!

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Nice guitar, man.

I have always wanted to see one of the original Esquires, which were black and made of laminated pine, with a slightly thinner body. Most didn't have truss rods.

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Nice of Seymour and crew to take time out of their busy schedules to show us such a gem!

Really?? the guy is talking about a vintage guitar & what he did to rebuild the pickups & all you have to say is get a Mike?? WTF

Being completely honest Bludave, Scott is in charge of the Social Media stuff.
The video's badass, but I'm sure we all want the best for the company here.
So a bit of feedback doesn't hurt.

It does sound a bit... destructive the way St. put it, but what can I say. I just agree.

It's only talking...we're not listening to the guitar's tone, so the sound isn't as important.

That said, I'd just love to rock the wheels offa that thing!!!

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Sorry. Professional hazard. Like if you saw a guy play a blazing solo on an out of tune guitar.

Bad audio makes for a bad video. And since the rest of the pieces are there for a quality spot -- nifty animation intro and outro, stable tri-pod shot properly exposed and intelligently framed for the main bits, reasonably stable handheld shots, with intentional motion to keep things from being too static, etc -- that one failure stands out all the more.

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

I was just too interested in what he was saying...sometimes the tune trumps the tone, ya know?

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

Seymour just seems like one of those guys who could keep talking for hours and hours and you'd never get bored of him.

Re: 1950 Fender Broadcaster

never knew those metal plates could change the magnetic forces and get different tones, that's really cool.
