1971

Re: 1971

Very nice tone and chops! What did you use in terms of gear for the recording?

Thank you! For the guitars I used my Rockbender 2x12 combo, close mic'd with a Heil PR-30, with a couple of pedals, a Langraff Dynamic Overdrive for the rhythm part and a white Lovepedal Eternity for the solo. For the front end I used a tube preamp made by a guy named Greg Brice, based on an old 60's Pultec design. That goes into a Metric Halo ULN-2 into Logic Pro 8. Bass was straight into the tube pre. The drums are Addictive Drums, and the Hammond was a Jon Lord patch in Retro Organs.

Cheers...................................wahwah

Re: 1971

Man, that takes me right to Mountain and Trapeze. A great fat tone, and those bends are just killer!! Extremely nice!

Well, I must say that this clip was no better than I expected.

:omg:

It's AWESOME, Geoffro. Keep it up.

Re: 1971

I have a major complaint about this...

I had played this three times already. And I went for the fourth time. And guess what -- soundclick decided to hate me, and now I cannot stream your tune anymore. At least right now. Bah!

That being said..

This is. Awesome.

!!

Love your playing. I seem to recall there was something around the 1:27 mark (well, there was something all over the track!), and it was just mmmmmmmmmm. Great stuff, Geoff -- as always!

Re: 1971

Sweet as!
Takes me back to local Rory Gallaher gigs in Belfast.
Love the last note phrase.

Seeing Rory live must have been brilliant. That's a fine compliment to say that my track takes you back there. Thank you.

Cheers.................................Geoff.
