1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

800.00. Very Good Plus Plus. Exc. Frets. All original, except the brass plate on the back of the headstock; this can easily be removed and did not alter the original condition of the guiar.- this was a very 70's thing- increases sustain . The guitar has minor to very moderate playwear, but there is a small chip on the corner of the headstock not visible from the front. Also there are some picking scrapes on the front of the guitar limited to a small small area between the pickups under the high E.
This is one of the cleanest ones I have seen. The trussrod works and the neck is in straight condition. Electronics work 100%. Original T-Top pickups which are some really thick sweet and syrupy sounding- very vintage tone. Nice hardshell case made in Canada included. May Trade for a Telecaster.

i want this guitar so badly :( the Fathead on it just makes it cooler.

you can find them for less than this at online auction if you stay vigilent. They arent that rare ,although they arent common.Im going to hang onto this at my asking price unless I get a trade for a Tele or an Explorer.

haha it also makes some pretty good tones for guitars as well....I've played 2 and loved them both....makes me sad on the inside that you're letting her go..:(

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

these are beautiful guitars...I played one in a local shop, it was going for $999 canadian, so it was pretty expensive, I'd say this is a good price for one. Whoever gets this is a lucky person.

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

sisnce you brought this back ttt to old grampaJerry, ya know what? I took off the Fathead and the serial number had been all scratched out. So I may be getting my Mahogany Sytart back tommorw which i was really hateing myself for giving up, and also I think Im going to keep "The Paul" as a player in a renogiated deal thats more favourable. The guiatr needs a fret dress though. Its a great sounding axe. What was the tele project again?

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

NO MITCH THIS IS MY THE PAUL

uh my Warmoth Strat is a hardtail with humbucker routes so you could easily set it up like a Tele, tele bridge and pickups and stuff...:smokin:

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

lol ok calm down brospeh, I thought he was referring to my tele project we talked about ages ago:p

okay, tell me more. Whats the neck like?body wood and paint? Can it be set up as a standard tele or a tele with p90 neck and qtr pound bridge?

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

Fat neck (Warmoth's 'chunky boat' or something like that) with vintage frets, rosewood fretboard...the hardtail bridge i got is basically a Tele bridge without the extra chrome to attach a pickup to, so you could replace it with a normal Tele bridge or just one of those humbucker mounting rings that fit single coils. You could drop a Phat Cat or a P-94 in the bridge...in fact if you get this thing from me i'll throw in a Phat Cat neck model...

There's still a bit of white finish on the body that needs to be sanded off but I could probably get that done before i sent it to you. Not to mention I couldn't trade a Warmoth for a Gibson without throwing in a little bit of extra cash, which I would need some time to raise...heh!

I mean it's up to you man, that Paul is the **** tho, I would at least try some new pickups in there before getting rid of it...

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case

Hey everone. The Paul is gone- I had to trade it back.

Re: 1979 Gibson 'The Paul' w/ Hardshell Case
