1980 Ibanez dt 50 Saint Seiya

Well this guitar has returned from hell. It was almost destroyed in a fr route that went wrong. Lucky for me the original post holes where 3 quarter still there so the posts will go into wood not the plugged cavity. I am still a bit undecided about what bridge i want but i was thinking either schaller 475 or a gotoh 510. There will be a black single pickup cover for the neck pup. Nothing is bolted on yet its just for the pictures.

I got inspiration for this from a song by animetal usa ''Pegasus Gensou'' AKA saint seiya. Naturally i had to convert it to Humbucker single

Notice how the graphic runs off the edge.

This project was a challenge right from the start. In the end the result turned out a little more vintage style than i hoped but overall i am pretty happy with it. I couldn't be bothered finding original cavity covers so i made my own. I am quite chuffed with the jack plate if a say so myself.

And there it is.

Schaller Hannes bridge? Pricey but worth it, imo. Don't know whether you'd have to mill the neck pocket down though so the strings aren't hitting the neck, it's a fairly low profile bridge.

Only issue is it would than bolt into the plugged area not the original body wood.

I would like a bridge type that wont take up to much of the image area.
So either a gotoh like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Gotoh-510UB-Stud-Mount-Adjustable-Bridge-GOLD-/390327286329?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5ae151ba39

Or i have a schaller 455 like this but its chrome. I was thinking it would look cool sprayed yellow but i am a bit worried the finish wouldn't last on it. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Schaller-Stud-Mount-Adjustable-Bridge-CHROME-/330410788945?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item4cee048851

That's awesome! Can't wait to see this guitar come back to life.

I have a heap of custom guitar ready to be put back together, I am just lacking some funds for all the hardware for them atm. And i refuse to use cheap hardware.

I have pretty much everything to get this going but in chrome.....so unless i decide to paint them i cant see it being finished for a bit. Just got a new job so its been a bit busy.

Re: 1980 Ibanez dt 50 Saint Seiya

That animetal usa album blew me away Chris Impellitteris guitar work is second to none. It is cheesy as hell but i wouldn't have it any other way,

Re: 1980 Ibanez dt 50 Saint Seiya

Part of me wishes i did a yamoto tribute as well. DAmn Chris and mike kick lips

Mike Vescera as METAL-RIDER (OBSESSION/ex-LOUDNESS)
Chris Impellitteri as SPEED KING (IMPELLITTERI)
Rudy Sarzo as STORM BRINGER (BLUE OYSTER CULT, ex-OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, DIO)
Scott Travis as TANK (JUDAS PRIEST)
Jon Dette as TANK (ex-SLAYER, TESTAMENT) on second album

former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman arranged the tunes...

Hmm, I don't have experience with these 'badass' style bridges.

If you wanted the finish to last, you'd have to get it anodized, seen people do that. Buckethead's original white LP had white anodized hardware; saw someone on TGP recently with a customized swirl RG7620, and they had the trem saddles and tuning buttons anodized red. How long these last depends on how much you play and how much of a sweatbucket you are.

Got your PM, by the way (tried to reply but the server keeps timing out) - sickening score, that is all. You saved yourself about $140 :approve:. You putting it on something or parts bin?
