So far, so good. 1984 "C" Plate 2 Piece Center Seam Maple Body weighing in at approx. 9lbs, 1983 Original Floyd Rose with Screw In Arm, 1986 Seymour Duncan JBJ, 2 Piece Center Seam Maple Body, R2 One Piece Birdseye Reverse Strat Head Neck. Will Lemon Oil the Hell out of the neck. Thinking it should look pretty good together...

I was going to snag a Banana for it but ran across this One Piece Birdseye. This will be strictly a "player" to keep out with the RG770DXRR. I can always swap the neck if I run across something irresistible!

Schweet project! I dig the reverse strat headstock... it would be my first choice.

Banana and beak headstocks can look a bit fugly as far as project guitars go.

Thanks! I was dead set on a Reverse Banana ala Lynch's ESP Guitars but saw the Rev Strat Birdseye and thought it would look pretty cool. Hoping it fits nice and tight in the pocket and feels good in my hand. Should have it in a few days.

Sweet - I would go with the pointy neck! I have a D series Pacer that I redid a couple of years ago. I think its in same weight/body category as yours.

I like this thread. It has reminded me that my Ibanez RG410 project needs finishing. (The Ibby was pretty much a Baretta clone.) It also explains why the RG sounded "right" with a JBJ onboard and "wrong" with a Holdsworth or any DiMarzio.

Neck arrived today...raw Birdseye Maple, jumbo frets, heel truss adjust, and very much a boatneck/baseball bat so I will be doing a little sanding on the back prior to applying multiple coats of lemon oil. Good thing I picked up a 12 pack of Grolsh and popped it in the fridge last night! :friday: I like it though!
