Bought a $199 Jet JS-300 recently and am stunned how nice this guitar is. I'm not sure how they even make money honestly. This is a real guitar! It's got a pretty heavy weight to it, sunburst colors are beautiful, polyurethane clear is thick and glossy, the roasted maple neck is to die for (!), headstock looks classy, and it sounds good, having what I would term "fine" gain level on the bridge single to still do hard rock through typical modelers or amps. The roasted maple neck and paisley pickguard and rear paisley cover really make this guitar feel upscale. Holding it in your hands, there is nothing cheap, substandard, or at all lacking in fit and finish, all aspects look and feel very substantial. Fret dressing is even good. Are they the very best pickups, no, but they are surprisingly good! We all know what quality and substance feels like in our hands, and this is that. Tuners are budget, but seem to work and look fine. Nobody would call this a "cheap guitar" like a Glarry at all, this is a real guitar, and one that you would not be ashamed in the least to walk into a bar and play with, it looks that nice. Perhaps I would have got the JS-400 (humbucker) if I had it to do over, but to be honest, I kinda needed a guitar to get me familiar with single coils, and I love my guitar. For $200, these are a stunningly good deal. It's pretty reminiscent of what Sire does, an incredible guitar that looks and feels upscale for killer prices. You won't regret gambling $200 on this guitar in the least.
