2.1 computer speaker system driver prob

ginormous

Understatmentologist
In '07, I got a Klipsch/THX 2.1 (stereo + sub) powered system for listening and monitoring.

I'm getting an odd, occasional 'click' sound on the right side, on some transients (kick drums and such). I suspect the low-mid driver may be on its' way out.

Is it worth it to swap out the driver, or should this whole kit get tossed in favor of a "real" system? Your thoughts.

I wasn't sure whether to put this thread here or in Tips & Clips, so admins, feel free to move it wherever necessary.

I would toss it and buy some real studio monitors.

Your problem sounds like its coming from the amplifier. Replacing the speaker will most likely do absolutely nothing.

I am also not a fan of anything THX.

Re: 2.1 computer speaker system driver prob

I absolutely LOVE my Klipsch 2.1 set (Promedia, I assume it's the one you're talking about, based on the /THX description). While they aren't the most neutral speakers, I mix on mine all the time without a problem, and they're all I use to listen to music/movies!

They're like 120 bucks for a new set, aren't they? You can't get anything even close to that quality for that price!
