hello guys... very long time i'm not log in here.

here is my question, i'm confuse with two wiring method.
my guitar is Epiphone LPS Goth.
originally, the diagram is like this:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/schematicspdf/2h_2v_2t_3w.pdf
but not with SD pu.... just stocked pu.

then... i found this diagram:
http://www.lacemusic.com/wiring/pdf/6.pdf#search="les paul wiring diagram"

as you can see... the way they connect the capacitor is different... why?
is that effect the sound?

tq in advance for the reply bro.
:)

Re: 2 Different Wiring Diagram

There's no difference. A tone control is a cap and pot in series. It doesn't matter which order they fall in. Since the potentiometer is wired as a rheostat, it doesn't matter which order the two terminals are in either. (Assuming you get the proper two terminals.)

All four of these are electrically identical:

sorry aloymetal, I don't meant to hijack your thread.

ArtieToo, is the pot for volume and tone is the same?

It can be the same, but it doesn't have to be. A volume pot and a tone pot can be the exact same part, but you can also mix values and tapers. For example, 250k vs 500k, or linear vs log. You can use whichever part meets your needs in either position.

Typically, people use the same pot in both positions. But not always.

Re: 2 Different Wiring Diagram

Thank you very much ArtieToo.
from now on... i dont have to worry about that

pandejon, most of the guitar use the same pot.
but like ArtieToo said, there is a linear & log/audio pot's type.
this link is very useful about pot and your question answered here:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/category/wiringresources.1basicwiringfaqs/#q2

but for those who always use tone & volume at max / 10 level... dont have to worry about linear / log.
