Charvel San Dimas Style 2.... Seymour Duncan JB(B) 59(n) 3 way switch 1 vol.

When using both (middle position of switch)... i loose some output and the sound gets brittle and treble-y..... I dont like it... what's going on here???

The wiring to me seems a bit odd..... according to the diagrams on the SD site...... greens are landed where blacks should be.....hmmm....

Normally the middle positions exudes less output than the bridge and neck. Your guitar might or might not have a problem.

Ok. just kinda comparing to my PRS Singlecuts..... i have 2 of them and they dont do want the charvel does in the middle position..... but thanks man..

Re: 2 Humbucker, Middle Position issues...GRRRR

It sounds like one pup is out of phase with the other. Flip your hot and ground on one and see if it still does it.:cool2:

Re: 2 Humbucker, Middle Position issues...GRRRR

This may be a little late :) but that is the norm for a San Dimas, I think. The middle position isn't both humbuckers in series; it's the inner coils out of phase.

I don't think you looked at the pics. This one is wired like a LP with one vol and no tone.

Re: 2 Humbucker, Middle Position issues...GRRRR

110% POSITIVE they are out of phase with each other. The two hots are switched, and the description you gave is pretty much the exact definition of OOP sounds. Just swap the green and black wires and you'll be fine.

Re: 2 Humbucker, Middle Position issues...GRRRR

Except BOTH pups are wired "backwards" (black to ground and greren to switch), so they should be in phase with each other.

So in that case, the magnet is probably reversed in one. Reversing the magnet in either pickup (picture rolling over in bed) but only in one pickup should correct the problem.

It's certainly worth a try. Pretty and quick simple to do.

Re: 2 Humbucker, Middle Position issues...GRRRR

Or simply reverse the black and green wire of 1 pickup. easier, faster and just as effective.

Yeah, that was suggested by GoldenVulture. Hopefully the OP has tried it by now. If not, he should.
