2 volume and footswitch?

Hello,
I have 2 Humbuckers and I want 2 volume pots with coil split so the guitar is a bit variable...but i wonder would it be possible to add a footswitch on the guitar, that would work like on/off switch for a whole guitar ? so I dont have to roll volume when i want it muted for a while...if its possible, how do i wire it?

Welcome to the forum!

On your guitar, are there any tone knobs? What kind of switch is there? As far as the footswitch goes, any tuner pedal will do what you want- and as a bonus, you can silently tune!

no no, not like a killswitch, just like master volume but not a pot but just on/off , you press it ,guitar is silent(doesnt matter how rolled off are pots) you press again guitar is back on. just like it would cut the signal until next press ...im not sure if im explainig it correctly ,sorry

im building the guitar right now and only time i touch tone knobs on other guitars is to make sure they are 100% on so i dont want tone knobs . I want this guitar to be 2 Humbuckers 3 way blade 2 vol(coil split) and some master on/off switch

That’s what a kill switch is. Just short the output to ground.

oh.. i taught killswith is the button that you press and its silent but once you lift your finger of it the signal is back on

It’s the same thing. Except you want a latching, not a momentary switch.

You can use a push button or a toggle switch.

ohh i see..so i need to buy latching push button ..and then wire it in front of output jack.. right ?
