2 volume pots+three way switch! Is this possible?

Hello all! I want to possibly install a Blues Trembucker in my HM strat and I want to know if I can run two volumes AND a 3 way switch with NO tone knobs. One 250k volume for the two single coils and one 500k volume for the Bridge humbucker. Does anyone have or know of a link with this wiring diagram?

You can do this, but how you do it, and how well it will work depends on how you plan to wire the 3-way. Do you intend to have each pup on one at a time? Like this:

1. Neck
2. Middle
3. Bridge

Or were you planning on connecting the neck and middle together to act as one pup? Like this:

1. Neck and middle
2. Neck, middle, and bridge
3. Bridge

It will affect the way you wire all this up.

Edit: btw - There are other ways to wire 3 pups to a 3-way. Thats just two.

I wanted them on one at a time.

Bridge = separate 500k volume
Middle = shared 250k volume
Neck = shared 250k volume

Thanks for the bump. I was asleep at the wheel.

Can you decipher this schematic:

Basically, you connect the neck and middle to one side of the 5-way as normal. You then take its output to your 250k pot. Take that pots output to the other side of the 5-way, along with the output of the bridge volume.

You'll lose the dual-tone control, but I wouldn't think that should be a problem. With this setup, you retain 3 pots. Fills the holes nicely. If you don't want or need the tone, just omit it.

Is this a 5 way or a 3 way? It looks like a 3 way switch. I already have a 5 way in there and I will stick with it if necessary.

Its a 5-way. 3-ways and 5-ways are identical except for a little metal tab on the wiper. They appear the same in wiring diagrams and schematics.

Edit: Remember - a 5-way is a 3-way thats been modded to have a detent between two of the positions.
