2004 Les Paul Custom specs?

Re: 2004 Les Paul Custom specs?

Also, two months ago, an A4/A8 mod in the 490R/498T aka "Dread set" of a pretty new LP standard sounded pretty good on a hand-made, 50W 1959 Plexi clone playing Classic Rock.

/Peter
I did that swap on a 496R/500T set about a year ago in a V, and it kills, metal, classic rock, even blues to an extent.

If I am not wrong your guitar has an ebony fingerboard, 490R/498T pickups, and a neck profile that stands in between the '60 and the '59 profile with a C shape (much more similar to the very early 90s standards than the late 90s ones). Comfortable medium neck profile with great playability. Asking Gibson sometimes is a waste of time, anyway you could get some infos from them. But you said that you prefer the 60 slim taper (that actually is not the '60 profile) and don't like the 490R/498T combo, so, the question is: why did you buy that guitar? (only curiosity)
