The reverse V is a work of balance and poise next to the reverse Explorer.
The headstock is an abomination. It's the dumbest freaking thing.
The headstock actually reminds me of the Fernandes Nomad travel guitars with the built in speaker.
These days, I don't think anybody likes Gibson innovating, LOL.Maybe they should fire the 'just because we can' design guy, and get some innovators in there.

Yeah. Personally, if I want a modern Les Paul, I'd much rather have an ESP Eclipse than a Gibson Les Paul Modern. Most people who want a Gibson want an old design. But they should have a few modern, ideal designs. I don't think their current modern LPs solve the issues people have with standard, vintage-type LPs. That's why they go to other companies like ESP and PRS.

I love Les Pauls, but I'm aware playing a Les Paul is not about the feel. For me, it's about the tone. I love the tone so much that I can tolerate the slight discomfort from playing a thick-ish neck with a round-ish fretboard, a bulky heel, and tiny frets. It's not ideal, but an ESP Eclipse doesn't really sound like a Gibson Les Paul either.
To me, an ESP Eclipse would get much closer to the LP sound if they moved the bridge pickup to the same relative position to the bridge itself as a Gibson and used the same kind of Mahogany. Then, at the same time, I get why they don't. An ESP Eclipse, even though unarguably LP-inspired, is not a LP.I bet someone could design an LP with more modern features (like an ESP) that sounds like you'd expect an LP to sound. It might use different woods, or different construction, but it could still have the LP look from the front, just be a lot more player-friendly.

Looks like it escaped from a puma attack. I don't know if it is my thing.
Ha!!! "Puma attack"! Ha!!!
That's old school weight relief! They needed to cut some corners on production costs!
