2006 Les Paul Standard, Tobacco Burst - Legitimate?

Re: 2006 Les Paul Standard, Tobacco Burst - Legitimate?

I neeeeeeeeverrrrrrr NEVER said it was a Gibson neck. One person read half of what I wrote and gave me crap so I clarified another person reads half of my clarification and gives me crap.

You might not have said it but you sure implied it, You told him to measure the frets to see if it was a real neck. This means that you are at least considering the idea that its legit. Hence my reply to you.

There is a litany of things wrong with the neck that scream that its fake yet you still told him to measure the frets just to make sure. As if someway somehow a junk body with a gibson neck glued on it would be desirable in any way.

Hideous crap copy. Wouldn't pay even a nickel for it.

Hold the fort here,....did you say that you "clarified"? Doesn't that mean like you filtered water to make it cleaner? I didn't see any filtering in your post.

Maybe I'm wrong, I read maybe half of your post :burnout:

That is one of the ugliest tobacco bursts I have ever seen. Reminds me of some of the really bad Epiphones that would come with that burst. Cringeworthy is an understatement.

This is a proper tobacco burst. 2009 Gibson Traditional Pro.

Rainmaker! Bro!! How it Bee??? My general call is OMG that is fugly no matter what - and we know you like beautiful things.

Mate! How have you been all these years? It's been such a long time, I felt something logging back in. Went and looked at your profile and saw the G is for Girls group... I almost forgot that I had spearheaded that! Life is different now, working in Singapore and engaged to a Singaporean woman, just cracking away at work. Getting back into guitar as we have these yearly cheesy law firm battle of the band events (and I'm in three of them this year), was chuffed at the notion of getting a Les Paul. All this time on the forums and I am so obviously ill equipped to spot a fake... LOL. Time to get back into it, I think. :) What's been happening in your world Aceman?

All, thanks very much for going into so much detail in terms of the counterfeit analysis. My friend and I have been having such a laugh at all these elements that are wrong with it, none of which we picked out. My friend had bought the guitar off eBay several years ago for about 850 pounds. I went from very excited to very deflated... haha.

Re: 2006 Les Paul Standard, Tobacco Burst - Legitimate?

Am I missing something here?
Why would someone take the neck off a legit Les Paul to make a counterfeit les paul?
Trash a $2k guitar to......erm...... make a fake guitar.....to sell for less than $1k!???

Re: 2006 Les Paul Standard, Tobacco Burst - Legitimate?

I don't appreciate being bullied. There was no reason for any of these people to react the way they did to my responses. It was immature trolling and I really don't appreciate it. I thought this forum was supposed to be a place where people shared information. I thought this place was better than that. Apparently not. You guys ganged up on me like a pack of freakin' wolves. One fat kid threw a rock and you all joined in, like a bunch of sheep, and are still pelting me even after I left to de-escalate the issue.

I really want no part of this forum.
I do this for a living... I am a luthier... i am a tech.. one of the best in town...

I am very well respected in my community and I have the fastest growing shop in the region. People send me guitars from all over the United states.
I've got a booth at winter NAMM to showcase my builds.
. Do you? Probably not. You just re-state regurgitated forum info and call yourselves pros. I make a living doing this... a good one at that. So..
I attempted to add information and was quickly discouraged from ever doing so again. You should really be ashamed of yourselves for acting this way.

It is a good time to remind everyone that if you feel like you are being bullied, please report the offending posts. I see a bunch of posts that were edited to have nothing in them. So following this, I am a little confused at what I am looking at.

Re: 2006 Les Paul Standard, Tobacco Burst - Legitimate?

The good threads usually have like 3 different separate conversations going on. I think half of us have each other on ignore and post around each other. Reassembling any conversation from that is a fine art.
