2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

it is heartening to see a continued colaboration between Ibanez & Seymour Duncan this 2007. the Prestige RG2610E features a solitary TB-10 Full Shred trembucker

just wanna know whether this is a specific appointment or just the Ibanez people choosing a Duncan humbucker at random (hopefully it isn't so) for their guitar, because unlike 2005's Prestige SZ2020 (featuring the superb Seymour Duncan Ibz units), this one's an off-the-shelf unit.

I really like that. I wish they would make a single humbucker LP. I would buy one.

sexy stuff, ibanez looks good for 2007! lots of interesting genuine changes, not just paint jobs..

you guys seen the 8 string?! :D

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

hmm if only they used a dome kinda knob rather than a traditional type. might look cooler

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

It should have a booster switch too, but that's an easy fix ;)

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

that guitar may be a future purchase for me. it just looks so cool....and i usually dont like ibanez's. go figure

well ibanez neck profiles are quite nice to play on IMO.
however that guitar will have a hefty price tag on it, so i doubt i'll even come close to getting it unless i win the lotto. :D

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

theyre usually way too thin for me. but this one just really appeals to me visually for whatever reason. id definately try this one out in the store though, hopefully some places around me are gonna get em

in the guitar realm, Ibanez's 'hefty price tag' doesn't even come close to some standard Gibson/ PRS units... IMO they remian affordable. i've not come across people giving an arm/ leg for an Ibanez.

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

well, gibson is gibson afterall. ibanez is ok, i never really thought much about them after the mid 90s. quality back then was pretty good. nowadays its mostly the higher end prestige models that are really well built. and in this country, expect to pay about $1 to 1.5k USD for one

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

Maybe Ibanez's marketing department has realized the huge
potential of middle aged men who were young in the eighties?
I thought I wouldn't buy any Ibanez guitars anymore, but these
new models have given me new thoughts. I'm sure a brand new
RG in pink or yellow made me feel and look (dream on) at least
15 years younger.

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

according to Ibanez.com, the official distributor for Ibanez in SIngapore is Swee Lee CO, yes?

the following Prestige model prices are from their site:

RG2620= USD1192
RG1527= USD834

if you are talking 'bout QC nose diving, it's not exclusive to Ibanez...

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

yes, swee lee.
the super rip off place. i never buy stuff from them and never will.
their prices for most things are wayyyy overpriced!

and service is very bad.
it pisses me off just to step into their shop

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

yeah thats the first place i saw it, i got that one about a month ago

Re: 2007: Ibanez + Duncan (default)

yeah. i always get GW a month later than everybody, so i guess it all balances out

chill.

not invoking personal sentiments here, if i did, due apologies. i believe Ibanez are reasonably priced in the region proximate to Japan itself, your dealer proves just that (comparing general prices of course).
