All guitars can and will rock in the right hands, but a mid 90's beats a 2015They will rock.
Well this is what I get for being optimistic, hahaIf Gibson are under the same mismanagement as they were last year and they still listen to the collector crowd, don't expect improvements
Some pretty accurate rumours that next year will be similar to 2012 spec, but without the need to have the bi layer f/b. There is a thread on MLP on that right now.
Please let this be true!! OmgOver on the MLP forums, there has been some scuttlebutt from different dealers/mass merchants in different countries that seems to be confirmed in several cases as "thats what I heard too".
There will be a return to some pre 2014 specs on several models.
No clue if it's true, but seems legit. We'll know in a few weeks for sure.
Due to the success of the etune system in 2015, and the already widened fretboard, Gibson has announced that all non Custom Shop 2016 models will feature the Guitar Hero game controller in place of a standard neck.

Because a les paul standard, classic or traditional should be as the names imply. The collector/purist crowed have forever ruined Gibson. Overtime Gibson makes an improvement or change, the collector crowed flips their lids and gibson reverts back

The classic and trad should only see change if manufacturing changes drasticly, and the standard should be changed with features the customers have been buying for a few years.
They need a Les Paul Modern honestly. I have a few friends that love those new features, but most guitar players who buy a Les Paul are buying it because it's a classic in so many genres. That's why I want one.
If I want modern conveniences in a different guitar, I'd buy a modern as well.
What doesn't work is trying to make 3 or 4 "improvements" that have never been on a Gibson before on your Standard model, and it's even worse to change it on your traditional/classic models.
The Les Paul Modern could be a kinda beta test to test out ideas and give an option to people who want robot tuners and such.
I Think that 2015 was one big Beta test for Gibson. Rumors aside, 2016 should reveal the results.
I have a feeling they'll be going back to the pre '15 specs lol, but I could be wrong.
The problem isn't that the collector/purist crowd has cried. It's that Gibson doesn't offer choice when it's obvious that there's a market for multiple options. They need a vintage line, a vintage/modern line, and a balls-to-the-wall modern line. They could manufacture the same total number of instruments and be good. The collector/purist crowed have forever ruined Gibson.
