2018 Schecter Models

Never owned one, not looking for one, and can't comment. Someone asked me a question about a new model, and until today I have never even been to their website.

However, the 2018 line up looks pretty nice.

I mean how cool is this?

That screams hair metal!! Schecters are good guitars.. Id like to score one of Purple ones like a forum bro recently got. Most of them that come with Floyds (like the one pictured) have a Floyd model that comes updated with stainless parts, which are normally sold as upgrades.

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

The Korean made Schecters are built in the same factory as the Korean made ESP/LTD’s, which are very high quality. I’ve liked every Schecter that I’ve picked up

I’m interested in these as well. I have absolutely no experience with them other than I know a guy that has one.
Somebody once told me that they can tend to be “stiff” guitars to play...any truth to that?
I suppose it’s all in the setup?

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

Prolly the set up.. Ive not felt that about them.. They are good players.. Seen lots of guys on warped tour and others playing Schecters and LTDs live... Id have had NO probs gigging the c1 I had. It came with duncan JB/59 too, so it needed nothing other than straplocks.. and was like $499 at the time..

The ones I've played have been pretty typical 25.5" scale. It'll feel stiff compared to a Gibson, but should be pretty close to you're used to if you play Fenders, Charvels, or similar.

Great guitars, but the Floyd and trem models are lost on me. Love my matte black Solo 6 LP. Ebony board with no inlays, stainless jumbo frets, Blackouts...

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

I noticed a sustainiac pick-up in the neck position like they do on the Adrian Belew signature Parker Fly guitar.

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

I've been a fan of Schecter since I picked one up in '06. Schecters and Ltds are my favorite mid priced guitars ever, although I'd honestly go for a Schecter over Ltd becuase of feel and finish despite being made in the same factory. If you are interested and try one, I'm pretty sure you'll end up buying it. About the stiffness, yes that's true. Perfect for fast riffing!

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

They did well to have the Sustainer on there. It is a really cool device.

Is it me, or am I seeing a lot less new stuff this year from every manufacturer? It seems like in years past there was loads of new gear, now not as much.

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

Less stuff for sure, but I think more of what's left is being spec'd out more inline with what people are looking for and some interesting configurations.

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

I think Schecter are very underrated. I have two, (one being a Daisy Rock), and they're build quality is as good as anything I've seen, or played. Nice axes.

Re: 2018 Schecter Models

5 Shcecters for me, all the C1 body shape. I definitely dig them. 25.5" really handles drop tunings well, but I love the 24.75" scale for standard stuff.

And funny LTD should get so much love in this thread. I have an EC 256 that I'm falling in love with. I might end up with a few more LTDs before too long...

All mine have been used, so I haven't kept an eye on retail prices, but don't they seem to be higher the last couple years? Is wood getting more expensive or something?

And Artie, I've been eyeing those Daisy Rocks for a while. I think a pink glitter Les Paul would compliment my collection nicely.
