PS: (back for the night, major piss-down of rain right now :laugh2: )

Re: 2203 heads

Well new ones are on circuit boards and have an effect loop where the old ones where point to point and no effect loop. Those two things are areas where people believe that point to point and no effect loop means better tone.

Marshall stopped PTP in 74. The earlier 2203's are indeed on circuitboards (I have an 83 2204), but the pots are connected to the board with flying leads.

Actually marshall stopped PTP in 73...My 73 1987 50 watt head is pcb....None of the stock JCM 800 series heads are PTP...The Slash amp might have been?

Ok, ok, they stopped PTP somewhere between 73 and 74. I KNOW George Lynch's 73 metal-faced plexi was PTP. :laugh2:

Re: 2203 heads

None of the 74s I ever saw were PTP...73s are a split year....You can have either the pcb or the PTP with the 73 model year..
