I am considering building a 24.75 scale strat. It sounds like it may have a sweet and interesting sound. What do ya think?

This is 24.75, no big difference to me. The action is soooo easy, too easy, I'd have gone with 25.5 if done again.

Well, I am thinking 24.75 would sound very sweet with single coils. I am not sure though.

I have one, Basswood body, 2 DiMarzio Blur Velvet pups (neck and Middle), and a tele bridge pup in the bridge...It's cool, sounds kinda different...the neck sound is sooo smooth...love it. As a side note, it's posted here for sale...I've got GAS and a new smaller rehersal space! contact me if you interested.

Warmoth ;)

BTW, "Spalted Flame" isn´t that rare, actually (In fact, most spalted maple has some flame or quilt in it. But admittedly usually less perfect htan Carrot´s Top ;))). Spalted maple is "just" diseased wood, an. Flame or Quilt maple is usually found on the outer trees of a forest, as it´s caused by changing winds, and the outer ones are obviously most exposed to the winds. As they also are to many kinds of pests ond diseases ;)

Re: 24.75 scale strat. Has anyone played one?

I prefer a 24 3/4 " scale length in any guitar because I have short fingers, It's easier to bend strings, and easier on long stretches. In fact, I have an Anderson Hollow Cobra due today (Tele style with 24 3/4" scale).
